  1. It would be very wrong to drop Rose. He has done incredibly well since returning. I know sometimes it's a numbers game, but NO!!!!!
  2. Bad news for Nik if it is broken, but must now mean the management have to look at a double change
  3. Still can't really believe this is off. Forecast was for wind to die down and no rain until the wee small hours with a pleasant evening in prospect....and appears to be correct. Did Buster read the Michael Fish book of Fishy weather forecasts cos this one is sure as hell is lost on me. If the AFA had been left in a dodgy state after the wind and rain then fair call, but that appears not to be the case. Lost for words...
  4. Expect Doyle to go through the card, if one of those is a tactical that's 18 points. Hope Lambert and holder can beat him maybe once. Could be a close run thing, but having the other Lambert at reserve will help our cause. Hope stars can come away with a win, but expect robins to sneak an away point. Unfortunately got to miss this one and Swindon's other visit due to family hols. :-(
  5. Some decent racing again tonight. Harris sublime for Rockets, but a good team display by the stars with some excellent time riding. Poor old Josh still couldn't really score. Meeting moved along at a nice pace, but throw in a couple of tape breaks, a fall and couple of races with riders having two on the trot and ended up being a late finish. Still don't understand why it takes so long to between heats 14 and 15 though, and can we have some more speakers round bend 1 and 2. Announcers are clear, but struggle with riders being interviewed. No idea what Dooly was saying. Lambert was only marginally better.
  6. We got out of jail tonight! Not sure what was said in the interval! Much improved from from Noddy. Some decent racing throughout. Josh still not looking like scoring, shame but think the top league may be a step too far at this point in his career.
  7. Badly need a home win to get the season back on track. Need some decent racing as well. The first should be ok, by 6 to 8 points, jury out on quality of racing
  8. A change over date is simple but unfair. One team could strengthen after only 2 or 3 matches, others after 4 or 5. That would benefit the team that had ridden fewer matches as their stronger revised lineup can be used in more matches. 4 and 4 works, but maybe should apply to the team as whole, so if rider has missed a match or two they would still get a revised average
  9. Not sure it weakens us that much. Would be surprised if Kai scored more than the odd couple of points round monmore...hardly known for its wide open spaces that Kai seems to prefer
  10. Most comments here are spot on. Short interval was announced, seemed to equate to 20 mins. That should be the norm, so expected maybe 10 mins. Meeting did run at a good pace other than and unnecessarily long wait for heat 15. Don't think you can blame mic man, he just trying to inject some atmosphere. Poor racing on a cold night ain't gonna help. Deffo think the corners need to come in a bit to give more racing lines that are hopefully better suited to modern bikes. Stars will need to find their gating gloves and quick. Impressed with how good cook looked last night, didn't look like dropping a point.
  11. Stars to win, just, but expecting almighty fight. Will be wearing plenty of layers and a warm hat. Where has spring gone!
  12. Nicholls and Bomber will keep us honest but more a case of how many we win by. Double figures should be attainable. Real test is next week when the Aces come to town, then we will real see our potential or otherwise....
  13. Definitely think the Lynn top 3 will outscore their counterparts, maybe with exception of Scotty. Bottom end will struggle with tight Rye track. Hoping we'll do enough to sneak a win but won't be by a lot
  14. A couple more turnstiles would certainly help, but they'd need to be secure incase bill Barker was about ;-)
  15. Would happily purchase online as long as i can do it on day of meeting and weather is set fair.
  16. Ditto....and would have finished much earlier if there hadn't been so many fallers. Glad no one was hurt. Good win for the Stars, but will for sure face stiffer opposition. Somerset could have folded half way through but fought back well in the second half of the meeting. Cracking race between Lambert and Paddy. Gavin did a decent job on the mike too. Good start to the season...lets keep it rolling from here!
  17. I'm positive i wont be wearing shorts tomorrow night. :-)Can't believe the pundits in the Star don't rate us too highly...Looking forward to the playoffs already!
  18. Exactly what i do. Would take me well over an extra hour to go home first as it's the wrong direction for me. And punters would soon learn to get there early if they missed a race due to long queues, although a few more entrance tills wouldn't go amiss!
  19. 7.15 parade. 7.30 first race would work just fine. And as star lady says, interval can tie in with sun break if necessary
  20. Meetings need to be quick (except when there have been fallers). Unnecessary delays loses the momentum and excitement of the meeting. Aim should be 7.45pm start, 9.15pm finish.
  21. Stars look way too strong for Somerset. Just hope for some good racing and a decent crowd to get the season rolling
  22. I'd always assumed the yellow and green came about from the Norwich Stars link but at point the KL Stars wanted their own identity
