  1. Oh for goodness sake give it a rest man. You must be really bright if, as you admit, I have answered the question before. Was asking it again just to reinforce your ego? .....................or - are you as dumb as your question?
  2. I may not like it - but I suppose I would have to live with it. Why are you asking the same question again - I am sure I have answered it a number of times before. Preferably they would change it to absolutely no way of contriving to keep Meetings closer, and the Meeting would be decided by the Points scored on the Track. Surely that is the fairest way - and probably the cheapest too.
  3. I'm afraid you are totally wrong in my case E I Addio. Get rid of the 'Double Points' Rule and I would return tomorrow. I understand that Mr. Chapman is not keen on the Tactical Ride so I am calling on him to scrap it - do that and to Quote Arnold Schwarzenegger - "I'll be back".
  4. Those who have left the Sport for one reason or another could be tempted back and they would know. Perhaps they might return because they can afford it. As for new Supporters - they could learn the ropes like the rest of us did. ................... and yes - if that is how long it takes - fine. People would have more time to do other things afterwards. Leaving it as it is is really working well isn't it? Falling Gates and possible closing Tracks - yes Mockingjay things are really rosey at the moment. A radical rethink is required. Will it happen? To be honest I don't think there is a hope in hell.
  5. Spot on moxey63. You and I have very similar views on Speedway. Yes. No. Don't kid yourself. Thirteen Heats is the way to go. Second Halves were a great Training Ground for young, up and coming Riders. I think that there has been a reduction in young Riders coming through the system since the advent of fifteen Heats and scrapping the Second Halves. I have no doubt at all that people will say that I am looking backwards with those rose coloured spectacles again - but to me, he proof of the pudding is in the eating. I know a number of people went home straight after the Meeting - but I enjoyed watching the youngsters. Not if you get more people coming in to see more 'value for money' Racing.
  6. Well said sir. As you ask. I would change the Rules about returning to the Pits/third bend after a Tape offence - no need for it it just holds up Racing for the Punters - same to apply for first bend bunching stoppage - injuries/Bike readiness permitting. (Obviously). I would stop Riders from starting from 15mtrs back for a Tape offence. Bring in a Reserve automatically. I would also make Referees put on the two minute warning immediately following each Heat. That should be rigidly applied. The Sport is about Entertainment and anything that holds up Racing (apart from injuries obviously), should be eradicated as far as possible. I know that this is only tinkering with the Rules but anything that improves the Speedway experience has to be a good thing. As I think you know - 'Double Points' is the big one for me though. I would like to stop doubling up and doubling down too - but I realise that at present this is impossible.
  7. That would do me for a start. Thank you for bringing it up - I didn't want to mention it.
  8. The introduction of sensible and fair Rules and Regulations would be a start. Bikes, Engines and Tracks should also be looked at with a view to make Racing safer too. Oh how I yearn for the days when four Riders were hurtling around the Tracks of this Country throwing up dirt/shale. I went home covered in it many a time and I loved it. I don't suppose that nowadays, because of 'Health and Safety' and modern engines we could get back the smell of good old Castrol 'R'. Too much to hope for I suppose but all of this was part of what encouraged me to attend Speedway. Regarding my first point - I believe that it is essential that some changes are made. My last points are pure nostalgia and will never return.
  9. I couldn't agree more. Why is it that I feel that British Speedway is being 'ripped off' somewhere along the line?
  10. But just think of the experience Lambert has gained. He will have learned a tremendous amount from this Meeting and it will stand him in good stead for the future. I would say that sadly both Harris and Nicholls are now past the learning/improvement point. For me, even if Lambert had scored no points at all he would have been an investment for the future - the fact that he got his three points is a bonus. The future is Woffy and Lambert. Some were arguiing that Rosco should go for youth over experience, he did in Lambert's case and, to my mind - in picking Lambert - he got it right. Sadly I think it is time for the old brigade to move over to give the 'young guns' a chance to develop. EDIT: Oops!! - I just read your Post again and I have repeated your last comment SCB. Sorry about that.
  11. I think most/ if not all of the money (Profit) made at GPS and I think I am right in saying the Speedway World Cup goes to BSI. If anyone is making money out of British Speedway it is them - not British Speedway itself sadly.
  12. I was very pleased we finished second. BUT - we only finished second because we finished in front of Sweden after using the bloody Joker - Sweden couldn't use theirs. So once again this Joker/Double Points System has unfairly affected the Result. It still doesn't sit right with me.
  13. First rate Post with which I 100% agree. I have been going on for ages regarding 1920/30s Tracks and 2016 Rocket ships (Bikes) expected to Race on them. Little wonder, to me, that there are so many injuries these days. The Sport needs to take a long hard look at itself.
  14. Perhaps tonight will finally settle these arguments about Tai. I thought that he rode his socks off for his Country tonight and seemed to be encouraging the other Riders all the while too, as a good Captain should. I wish him well for the future and long may he continue to ride for GREAT BRITAIN!!!
  15. Quote - or diferent coloured Hats: I would suggest Red, Blue, White and Yellow and Black. I think that would be very distinctive. :D EDIT: Ooops. Sorry Shale Searcher - we both had the same idea at the same time.
  16. I'm afraid that you are right Star Lady. Faster does not make the Racing better in my opinion. For the sake of a few tenths of a second, they have changed the Bikes in to very dangerous machines indeed. Racing is definitely faster these days - but it was better in years past. There were still injuries then - but not so many serious ones. Of course, I know I will be called a rose coloured spectacled old duffer - but it is what I believe to be true.
  17. Perhaps they should give it a try. I might even make the Bikes safer?
  18. That thing Work. I gave it up years ago. To be honest - I don't know how I ever found the time to go...................................................
  19. Ludvig is doing OK this year so far. I sincerely do hope that it continues.
  20. Exactly. We will never know though as we got through only due to the location of the Final. To me - that is a despicable way to 'qualify'.
