  1. But just think of the experience Lambert has gained. He will have learned a tremendous amount from this Meeting and it will stand him in good stead for the future. I would say that sadly both Harris and Nicholls are now past the learning/improvement point. For me, even if Lambert had scored no points at all he would have been an investment for the future - the fact that he got his three points is a bonus. The future is Woffy and Lambert. Some were arguiing that Rosco should go for youth over experience, he did in Lambert's case and, to my mind - in picking Lambert - he got it right. Sadly I think it is time for the old brigade to move over to give the 'young guns' a chance to develop. EDIT: Oops!! - I just read your Post again and I have repeated your last comment SCB. Sorry about that.
  2. I think most/ if not all of the money (Profit) made at GPS and I think I am right in saying the Speedway World Cup goes to BSI. If anyone is making money out of British Speedway it is them - not British Speedway itself sadly.
  3. I was very pleased we finished second. BUT - we only finished second because we finished in front of Sweden after using the bloody Joker - Sweden couldn't use theirs. So once again this Joker/Double Points System has unfairly affected the Result. It still doesn't sit right with me.
  4. First rate Post with which I 100% agree. I have been going on for ages regarding 1920/30s Tracks and 2016 Rocket ships (Bikes) expected to Race on them. Little wonder, to me, that there are so many injuries these days. The Sport needs to take a long hard look at itself.
  5. Perhaps tonight will finally settle these arguments about Tai. I thought that he rode his socks off for his Country tonight and seemed to be encouraging the other Riders all the while too, as a good Captain should. I wish him well for the future and long may he continue to ride for GREAT BRITAIN!!!
  6. Quote - or diferent coloured Hats: I would suggest Red, Blue, White and Yellow and Black. I think that would be very distinctive. :D EDIT: Ooops. Sorry Shale Searcher - we both had the same idea at the same time.
  7. I'm afraid that you are right Star Lady. Faster does not make the Racing better in my opinion. For the sake of a few tenths of a second, they have changed the Bikes in to very dangerous machines indeed. Racing is definitely faster these days - but it was better in years past. There were still injuries then - but not so many serious ones. Of course, I know I will be called a rose coloured spectacled old duffer - but it is what I believe to be true.
  8. Perhaps they should give it a try. I might even make the Bikes safer?
  9. That thing Work. I gave it up years ago. To be honest - I don't know how I ever found the time to go...................................................
  10. Ludvig is doing OK this year so far. I sincerely do hope that it continues.
  11. Exactly. We will never know though as we got through only due to the location of the Final. To me - that is a despicable way to 'qualify'.
  12. Well it certainly would have saved some of the comments this Thread if they had done that. We probably wouldn't have made the Final then. I actually agree with you about that. If we are not good enough - we shouldn't be in it.
  13. Ooops - read your Post again. I apologise unreservedly. Note to self: Must read Posts more carefully. Sorry.
  14. So what are oyu on about? I only Posted the 'Link' in order to try to settle things down.
  15. Roscoe seems happy. Perhaps some should read this................................................ http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.30952
  16. I envy you Star Lady. I wish I could say that. :approve:
  17. As far as I know - you are right Star Lady. You are also right that there is nothing like the sound of those Rolls Royce Merlin Engines either. Incidentally, the Canadian Lancaster was over here last year and flew with the one from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (The Spirit of the Ruhr).. This quote from the Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir Arthur (Bomber) Harris, Commander in Chief of Bomber Command: “I would say this to those who placed that shining sword in our hands: Without your genius and efforts we could not have prevailed, for I believe that the Lancaster was the greatest single factor in winning the war.”
  18. Shhhhhhhhh - you mustn't mention 'Crusades' on here.
