  1. A very interesting Post with some good ideas. I certainly would not tear your Post apart.
  2. I don't think there was any conspiracy as far as Jerzy Szczakiel was concerned - Mauger fell off thus gifting the Title to Jerzy. A Track accident, that is all in my humble opinion.
  3. I have updated my Post for both the inclusion of Sunderland, and the years to the best of my memory which is not great these days. Thank you RB for your input - it is much appreciated.
  4. Sorry - I hadn't noticed. Thanks for the information. I will promote my Team to number one on my list.
  5. I thought we were not supposed to include our own Team. Sunderland 'Stars' 1971/72 and 'Saints' 1964 were my all time favourites.
  6. 1) Sunderland - Stars (1971 - 1972) 2) Sunderland - Saints (1964) 3) Ellesmere Port - Gunners 1973 4) Hull - Vikings 1971 5) Romford - Bombers 1970/71 6) Belle Vue - Aces 1971 7) Coventry - Bees 1971 8) Exeter - Falcons 1973 9) Berwick - Bandits 1971 10) Canterbury - Crusaders 1971 These Race Jackets appealed to me anyway.
  7. Jim Airey, Martin Ashby, Chris Lofquist, Nigel Boocock, Mike Broadbank.
  8. You are not talking rubbish in my opinion. You could well be right on a lot of your points raised. Only time will tell.
  9. Used to get tired of looking out of the window on Speedway days. More often than not rain would be falling, or, it would look like rain. This Spring is exceptional - typical that everyone is stuck at home. I agree with the lock down though. I hope everyone stays safe.
  10. I think one Rider who could be in with the best of the Riders you mention would be Joe Owen.
  11. My pick would be to swap Ray Wilson for Malcolm Simmons Steve. Otherwise I agree with the rest.
  12. I had occasion to speak with Eric once on the 'phone. What a charming man he was. One of the great journalists who captivated me when I was reading 'Speedway Star' all those years ago. A writer I much admired. R.I.P. + Eric.
  13. I had a couple of dealings with Mark. He was a really nice, friendly and helpful man. I am so sorry to hear of his demise. My condolences go out to his family and friends. R.I.P. + Mark
  14. There are some beautiful photographs here. Thank you for posting this ktl.
  15. Mmmmmmm - I wish you hadn't posted this Chart. I'm far too near the to for my liking.
  16. All the very best to one of my favourite riders.
  17. Very sad to hear this. I met Dougie a few times, a lovely man in my experience. My condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P. + Dougie.
  18. ..................... and 'Bobble Hat'.
