Tony Mole has, I believe, retired from saving Speedway Tracks. Could he be called back for one last hurrah - I don't know. Are there any other Tony Mole types out there - I doubt it. Here is hoping that another classic Speedway venue does not go to the wall - or the Developers. We will have to rely on the B.S.P.A to do something/anything they can to save the place.

Touché.

When Did Uk Speedway Decline Start?
The White Knight replied to a topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I was thinking more of the ability to be able to publicise the Sport as a better product and getting the word out there that Speedway is an exciting and very dangerous Sport. Whether this can be done through Social Media - I don't know......................................? -

Are those who run Speedway in this Country familiar with the advantages that Social Media can bring to the Sport? However, perhaps more importantly, do they know how to actually use and apply Social Media to it's best effect in the interests of British Speedway? These are genuine questions - I am not having a go here. -
Who mentioned Lindgren? I know it's not allowed like.

Was that about the Russians? -
Well done to all involved. It's always nice to be recognised.

It comes to a pass when you try to pass your partner for the win especially when you knock him off his line. There is a word for that - selfishness.. Whatever happened to Team Riding? Just asking like.

A beautiful and moving tribute Rob.

I never met Bryn Williams but through his Posts on here it was clear that he loved his Speedway. On a Thread some years ago he explained to me what 'Bundy' was - I have always remembered that. R.I.P. + Bryn.

I have seen that in certain Books yes. I have also seen words highlighted in Bold in books too. I do read a tremendous amount and the above happens not often - but definitely now and again. I see no need to change my style - for those who don't like it - then don't read it. Simple really. Owing to some of the personal attacks dished out to some people on this Forum - I think my style of writing is pretty small beer don't you? There are far more important and sensible Rules broken on here every day - but crucially no-one seems to do anything about them. Bullying for example. Attack the Post, not the Poster - need I go on. You Gemini, I am pleased to say, don't involve yourself in anything like that - so this Post is most definitely not aimed at you.

It doesn't sound good - does it?

I understand the English Language perfectly well. I come from a time when we wrote letters by hand, when we were supposed to be grammatically correct and when spelling was a more than useful attribute. I do not particularly care how various things are regarded on the Computer. I cannot change my upbringing any more than you can change yours - FACT. There should be room on the Forum to accommodate all of our foibles without criticising all of those people who can't/don't/won't go along with the norm. You can count me among the won't by the way.

I do hope so.

When Did Uk Speedway Decline Start?

It is a good Thread this. I have learned a lot (again) from it. I think it is fair to say that Speedway today is a totally different thing to what it was back in the '60s and 70s. I honestly believe that your Riders rode for your Club Season after Season and actually talked to and socialised with the Supporters. Many on here could say things similar to this - at Sunderland in the 70s we had Russ Dent, George Barclay, Dave Gatenby, Brian Havelock, Jack Millen etc. who we actually got to know as people. That simply doesn't happen nowadays and, I believe Speedway suffers because of it. That and ever increasing Rule changes that make the Sport lack credibility - Double Uppers/Downers, Double Points etc.. I also agree about the Silencers - the noise and the strong smell of the Castrol 'R' were a big part of Speedway too - the Sport has suffered with their loss as well. Sadly I don't, at present, see any end to the decline - I just wish that Speedway could go back to the way it used to be - but - I am not holding my breath. I stopped going because of one stupid Rule - I wonder how many others have stopped for the same reason, or how many others have stopped because of one particular reason/Rule that they can't abide. There must be many of them. -
Thank you for that ff. I am grateful.

Perhaps I just can't remember. It happens you know. I only wanted to know if Tai had made an Official Announcement. So far all I hear about is Twitter - I am not on Twitter. So I respectfully ask again - has an Official Announcement been made by Press Release or whatever on Tai finishing with Great Britain World Cup Team or alternatively has anything Official been put out on this subject by the Great Britain Team Management?

Happy Christmas to you to from: The British Speedway Promoters Association.
