  1. Yes - I think that is what I was thinking about steve. Thanks.
  2. Ooops - you are right. Sorry. I was thinking about other things whilst typing - never a good idea. I will amend my original Post. Thanks for letting me know.
  3. Super Post Sid. I don't think I could argue with your choice at all. Flak? Not from me mate. :approve:
  4. Good call. I always thought that Wayne Briggs seemed to try too hard, as I remember. Was he trying to live up to the Legend that was his Brother 'Briggo' - I don't know. Definitely another very unlucky Rider.
  5. That's it Sid - he was very friendly with everyone after the Meeting. He didn't say much before a Meeting though. He always tried to Team Ride too - woe betide any Rider that tried to pass him when he was covering the Track. Could be a bit hard at times - but that was part of his charm.
  6. Apparently Jack Millen required a Police escort out of the Stadium at Peterborough (I think). I can't remember his offence - but it definitely happened. I think it was something to do with kicking some lights following a dubious Refereeing decision, but I could be wrong about that.
  7. There's got to be a Joke there somewhere - but I am damned if I can come up with one flower.
  8. I had no idea it was that many. If you are right - it is a disgrace.
  9. Speedway could do with a lot more true 'characters' like this.
  10. ................ and what was that story please?
  11. So NP was good for something then......................... Very true - it is. At the moment unfortunately - it is extremely difficult to take the Sport seriously. It is also compared to 'It's a Knockout' with the iniquitous 'Joker' and 'Double Points'.
  12. I don't think I should have started this joke in my Post. :nono:
  13. Can you let me have a 'Street Guide' please Sid? :P
  14. Adam Roynon. Great Rider who could have gone so much further without so many injuries.
  15. Hoow would the Swindon Fans feel about that though?
  16. Yes - just when something goes belly up (Belle Vue ) they manage to improve on the cock up. :(
  17. Was that the John Jackson of Crewe 'Kings' fame Sid? Great Rider if so - along with Phil Crump, Dai Evans Gary Flood et al.
  18. Thank you very much Gemini. I hope your Dogs are well. Remember steve - this is Speedway. Situation normal.
  19. To answer directly the question posed in the Thread Title. Yes - I remember the 70s. I am still living in them.
