I always like Leigh Adams - a superb Rider to watch - he made Speedway look so easy. Sad he never made World Champion - still up there with the best in my opinion. Has anyone heard how he is progressing these days?

I find this Thread very sad and depressing. Is the old Abbey Stadium still to be used for Speedway next Season?

You see this is where Speedway lets itself down. It was exactly the same with the National Speedway Stadium. They announce that they will be building a new Stadium in a blaze of publicity. then, for whatever reason, there is a big delay. This is usually followed by no, or very little, information. People get totally fed up with the lack of consideration for those who come along and pay their money. Perhaps they think those folk are simply not worth considering? Perhaps the money is the only thing that matters to them. I hope and pray that a new Stadium will come about, and that the legendary Swindon 'Robins' do get their new Stadiium.

Good call. I always thought that Wayne Briggs seemed to try too hard, as I remember. Was he trying to live up to the Legend that was his Brother 'Briggo' - I don't know. Definitely another very unlucky Rider.

That's it Sid - he was very friendly with everyone after the Meeting. He didn't say much before a Meeting though. He always tried to Team Ride too - woe betide any Rider that tried to pass him when he was covering the Track. Could be a bit hard at times - but that was part of his charm.

Apparently Jack Millen required a Police escort out of the Stadium at Peterborough (I think). I can't remember his offence - but it definitely happened. I think it was something to do with kicking some lights following a dubious Refereeing decision, but I could be wrong about that.

There's got to be a Joke there somewhere - but I am damned if I can come up with one flower.

I had no idea it was that many. If you are right - it is a disgrace.
