  1. I hope it is still working OK. What sort of lowlife steals a life saving piece of equipment like that? I despair sometimes.
  2. My Wembley visits were really good - but - I was far more impressed with the Racing at the old Hyde Road Track. The Racing I saw there was just awsome.
  3. What a line up the British Final was in those days full stop. Not like nowadays sadly.
  4. At this present time the BSPA Management Committee have responsibility for Belle Vue - that's why.
  5. Belle Vue for me too Sid. That was a wonderful Team. Peter Ravn also rode for Belle Vue. 1981 - 83 and 1987- 1990. A very good and hard Rider if I remember correctly.
  6. I did no know that regarding Grasstrack. Very interesting. As for the question you pose regarding Speedway - I'm afraid I have no answer for you.
  7. On all fronts steve. Promoting, Presenting and also on the Television. He was a Master of all three in my opinion.
  8. Yes Sid - once he had beaten Mauger I thought - that's it. He looked really good and so fast. I will never forgive Persson for that.
  9. Well - at least I am not alone. Thank you Aces51.
  10. I sincerely hope that you are right.................................
  11. Ivan Mauger was one who springs to mind for keeping records of a Referee's tactics. Apparently he had it down to a fine art.
  12. Am I alone in worrying whether or not Belle Vue will be riding in 2017? The start of the Season is getting awfully close?
  13. Happy Birthday Speedway.
  14. To my mind - it certainly doesn't help Speedway. It should help, but it seems certain people in authority in Speedway seem happy just to see the Sport on Television and take the money handed over by the Television Companies. The presence of Speedway on the Television should be augmented by a massive push to actually PROMOTE the Sport. Television Advertising could be a start - expensive - yes - but you have to speculate to accumulate. I understand from friends and from some other Posters on this Forum that Social Media could be used much more advantageously and effectively than it is now. A lot of folk will probably stay at home to watch the Meeting if it is on the Television thus depriving Tracks of valuable income. How that is offset against the Television money - I wouldn't know. Apart from the folk staying away and watching it on Television, as I said earlier - I can't see how being on the Television hinders Speedway in any way.
  15. My worst moments: i) The closure of Sunderland Speedway in 1964. ii) The closure of Sunderland Speedway in 1974. iii) Briggo failing to win the 1972 World Final - I was there and it ruined my trip home. As you can see - Sunderland has not been a very lucky place for us Speedway Fans.
  16. Very interesting................................
  17. So sad this - there are some rotten people about.
  18. You can't say that SCB - there is a first class new Speedway Stadium there for the 'Aces' if some agreement can be reached. DG and CM have both said mistakes were made. The most important thing to remember about the whole issue is that without D. Gordon and C. Morton there would be absolutely NO Stadium for us to be discussing or argueing about. They deserve credit for that.
