Is it not 'Conservation' we are talking about here lucifer sam? See what I did there. Coat required?

I would just like to offer my sympathy to the Riders and Supporters of Coventry Speedway. You must all be feeling awful now - I know I did when my Track closed. I sincerely hope that a way can be found to resurrect Coventry Speedway in the very near future. In the meantime, sadly all we can do is to hope for the best. Very best wishes for the future. Ian.

Probably not - but there is no harm in conjecture.

Who Were The Better Team Belle Vue Or Cradley Heath.?
The White Knight replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
A great Rider who could have gone on a lot longer than he did if I remember correctly. -
Cheeky sod.

Fair enough.

So are you saying that all of my thoughts and opinions are wrong?

You are dragging down the tone of debate here.

Who Were The Better Team Belle Vue Or Cradley Heath.?
The White Knight replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
Not by me Sid. Jim Airey was one of my favourite ever Riders. -
I am certain Crowds will fall - they are almost bound to - we now have one less operating Track (Coventry). With luck Crowds may increase over the new Season - I certainly hope so but I somehow don't think so..

Uncertainty Over Teams And Sky Tv
The White Knight replied to Nobblytriers's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Worst News in a long time this. One of the most famous Tracks in Speedway closing down. Coventry 'Bees' are a great part of Speedway's history. Let us all indeed hope that this is temporary - but it is far easier to close a Track than to open, or even reopen one. My sympathies here are with the Supporters - I know what it is like - I lost my Track too. It was intimated that Speedway would return to Sunderland after about nine Meetings in 1964. It never happened - until 1971. I sincerely hope that Coventry will come back again - but - I suppose we must wait and see. Very, very sad. -
NAH!! :o :nono:

At the moment, sadly, they seem happy to just sit on it and allow the value of the Site to increase. Really, it is a shame that pressure cannot be brought on the current Owners to make up their minds quickly.

It would be good if we could all put our differences to one side and just be eternally grateful that the most famous Club in Speedway, Belle Vue, will be competing, as usual, in League and Cup Competition this year. The War couldn't stop then - let's just be thrilled that Financial problems haven't stopped them either.

As have Belle Vue.

You have me puzzled here. My memory isn't so good (honestly) so what am I missing?

I've just spotted this on the British SpeedwayGB Website: http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.31832

I am sure there aren't. If they do - then they can hardly call themselves Speedway Supporters. Thank you very much indeed Phil for keeping us all up to date with the proceedings at the Meeting. I would like to wish all at Belle Vue, my very best wishes for the coming Seasons, and hope that over the years Speedway will prosper in the wonderful new Stadium.. Regardless of the 'rights and wrongs' of what has gone on over the last couple of years - I think we should all move forward and support those who are rescuing this great Club, the Riders, the Staff and all involved in Belle Vue Stadium. Importantly - it should never be forgotten that only because of Mr. Gordon and Mr. Morton Belle Vue have the possibility of a great future in a great Stadium.

Thank you very much indeed Phil. You are a true Gentleman. :approve: That's my problem HT. I live in the 20th Century. Not the 21st. :nono: "The Past is a foreign Country - they do things differently there" - L.P. Hartley Yes - the 19th would do me. Red Coats and Pith Helmets.
