  1. The Poster clearly states 'replica' iris. It is an example of the early days of Board Track Racing. I think it appropriate to Post something like that on this Thread - the bike is obviously a replica but is a good example of the Bikes used in those days. What I am against is those Posting modern day BIKES and discussing modern day Board Tracking on these type of Threads. It spoils it for the history buffs like me. I learn a lot from these type of Threads. This is a Historical Thread and as such, in my opinion, the Poster (gustix) has Posted it in the right place. Don't worry - I would have complained if I though his Post inappropriate. I hope you can see my point.
  2. I would be if.....................................
  3. Sigh. I'm not going through all that again. :nono:
  4. Far too long. TWELVE minutes. As I asked earlier - how long does it take to choose two Riders from Seven? Most of the time your 'Number One' goes out in Heat 15 followed by one from six. Can't be that hard for goodness sake. I still contend that twelve minutes is too long to be standing freezing your bollox off in March, April or October. Whatever happened to consideration for your Public/Customers?
  5. How long does it take to choose two from seven?
  6. In the light of current happenings - this is so sad, very poignant.
  7. I thought the selling point was that the engines were all the same. I am definitely not technical but that is what I was led to believe.
  8. But what date did Rayleigh open Ray? Sunderland only began their second Speedway adventure in 1971. The first venture only lasted for nine Meetings in 1964. Four years didn't seem very long.
  9. I felt the same way at Sunderland - TWICE. 1964 Closure. 1974 Closure.
  10. I totally agree with you. The bonus, for me, is that he rides for Belle Vue. Provided he avoids injuries I am already convinced that he will go far in the Sport. The very best of luck to him.
  11. No Ray. This one: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Iy%27s+over+song&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b&gfe_rd=cr&ei=y1L3WNLGHIvHXpvTk-gE
  12. We are all entitled to our opinions salty. In this case I think you are wrong. Sorry.
  13. For those of us interested in the History - there may well be a need salty. I think it would be great if the modern stuff had it's own Thread and us History buffs could enjoy ourselves reading about, to us, the good old days. I don't see a problem with that.
  14. That is why I believe that both are wrong. I lived with the Tactical Substitute for a long time but I cannot live with the Tactical Ride any longer. I find it infuriating.
  15. Yet another very interesting Topic gustix. I had never heard of this Board Track Racing. It's always great to learn things. Thanks for Posting this - I sincerely hope that it remains on Topic and doesn't drift off on to other things like some of these great Historical Threads have done in the past. Why they have - I don't know - but it ruins it for those of us interested in the actual History.
  16. A contrived/fiddled last Heat decider. What is sporting about that.
  17. Just looked at the Updates - and I see what you mean. As I have said many times now, the whole idea is a bloody fiddle. I will not attend until it is scrapped altogether. If it isn't - TOUGH!!! Speedway has lost a Customer. I bet I am not alone in this either.
  18. Now I could definitely live with that. Four Riders fighting for the points available - no added values - sounds great to me. Points actually scored on the Track giving you a proper Result - what's to not like. I'm not even sure I would call that contrivance actually..................................... Great idea mikebv.
  19. For once - from me a compliment. I bought 'The Big Issue' - no not that one - the big issue of 'Speedway Star' (April 1st 2017 Edition) and I am very pleased with it. My compliments to the Staff who put the Magazine together - an excellent job. Well Done.
