  1. EXACTLY!!! Unfortunately these days Speedway and Credibility simply do not go together. I have supported Speedway since 1964 which is a total of 53 years. Now I do not attend - basically because of the 'Double Points' Rule. Doubling and Trebling up are also Rules that destroy the credibility of the once wonderful Sport of Speedway. It has already been mentioned regarding your relationship with your Team - that went out of the window years ago. We knew our Riders (they were 'our' Riders), their link with their Supporters was an important part of going to the Speedway. Riders became personal friends. Nowadays the Riders are so busy that they are gone, sometimes, before the Meeting has actually ended - I have attended one such Meeting. Credibility is a big thing with people nowadays - they don't like being conned. Unfortunately I do not know what the future holds for Speedway but I do wonder at times what will happen when all of us 'older' Supporters die off.
  2. I have stated somewhere else on this Forum that if Attendances are good - then yes you could publish them. Sadly Speedway is not exactly well supported at the moment so for that reason - I Voted 'NO'. Who would want to drag themselves along to a Track knowing that there would not be many people there? Personally - I would not publish the Gates at Speedway because if you did it could very well have the effect of putting people off. You know the sort of thing - "What - there were only 347 people there last week - it can't be that good - I think I'll give it a miss". This could happen. So, in my view let them come along in ignorance of the numbers attending - at least that way they will take a look - they may even like it and become regulars - who knows?
  3. One of the nicest Riders I have met in fairly recent Speedway is Chris Kerr of Redcar and Wolverhampton fame. Always ready to have a chat. A real gentleman in my opinion. I don't know what he is doing now - but wherever he is I sincerely hope that he is doing well. Good luck Chris. Thanks for the memories.
  4. I hope that he does well for the 'Bears'. Good luck Danny.
  5. I don't mind chants, rattles etc. But Air Horns drive me mad, or used to when I went.
  6. Oh no it wasn't ...........................
  7. The Dean Machine, I have found, generally knows what he is talking about.
  8. ME!!! Stupid!!! Read your Post. orion - the gift that keeps on giving.
  9. Have you nothing original to say? You have said that a number of times now. I had to explain to you that changing your mind isn't lying - you obviously have a problem understanding English, never mind writing it. As for the rest of your Post - unintelligible claptrap as usual. I don't know what you were taught at School - but it certainly wasn't English.
  10. There is merit in what you say there Moxey63. I saw the GP on Saturday - but I can't say that I am missing the League action on the Television. I can't see the point of starting the coverage halfway through the Season as BT are doing. Seems very odd to me.
  11. I'm not very knowledgeable at all. I wish I was. I lost my Track Sunderland over forty three years ago now and I don't want an old iconic Speedway Club like Coventry to go the same way. All I want is for people to talk to each other - it is the only way this matter can be settled. I felt exactly the same about Belle Vue when they were going through their troubles too - as a Belle Vue Supporter I was very concerned about them at the time. As a Speedway Supporter - I am concerned about Coventry 'Bees'.
  12. This is a great watch. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks very much for Posting it Phil.
  13. Sadly injuries ruin Seasons for lots of Teams. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the Sport, we can only live with it, and hope that any injuries are not too serious. Again, sadly, that isn't always the case.
  14. They look alright to me gustix. I don't really mind if they are there or not. They don't effect the Speedway one way or the other - so personally - not bothered.
  15. I'd rather wait until the end of the GP Series before making a comment like that. You may well be right - on the other hand - you may be very wrong. We shall see.
  16. Can all people involved with Coventry Speedway just get together and sort this all out in a civilised manner. Those involved are supposed to be Businessmen. They must realize that all the petty squabbling is helping nobody, and is in fact hindering a solution being found. I would love to see Coventry back in the fold next Season. The only way to do that is for those involved to talk to each other.
  17. Which might become disorderly in the rush to get one.
  18. That is his modus operandi Gavan - he knows little else.
