Presenters And Announcers

Barry Wallace was the Announcer at Sunderland 1971 to 1974 as well as his long and meritorious career Announcing at Newcastle. Thinking about it - there can't be many around today who have served the Sport/Clubs as long as Barry. -
I didn't say they would drop him. I just agreed with DiamondGlory's opinion.
-
Actually - I agree with you.
-
By golly you are right. Very well spotted. Malmo, Sweden was the venue and Peter scored 6 Points to finish, as you stated, 10th.
-
Greenwood may have improved since then. Give the lad a chance. As for Lindgren - are you trying to wind up Dandelion.
-
Very true mtm. You can only ride the Track where they hold the event. Not the fault of Price, Williams or Craven that Wembley was the only Track to hold World Finals at the time.

One of the best I have heard is Barry Wallace at Newcastle. -
I fit in to the same catagory as yourself Van der Elst. I have seen quite a few of the 'greats' since 1964 when I first became interested in Speedway. It is the greatest regret of my Speedway life that I never saw Peter Craven ride. He is still a hero to me though. He and Briggo (who I have seen ride and met) are my all time favourites. It says something of the Legend of Peter Craven that he can be one of my two favourite Riders - and I never saw him actually race.

Have you read Simmo's Book steve - it is excellent.

One of my favourite haunts steve. I love it there. I don't get so much these days.....

I have loads of Retro Speedway Books that I bought from Tracks, mainly Redcar. They are all great Books. My favourite would have to be John Berry's two 'Confessions' Books. Both very well written and inciteful. I have very much enjoyed all the ones I have read and I still have a few to read. I pass a lot of my Books on to a place called 'Barter Books' in Alnwick. Not my Retro Speedway ones though - I keep them.

Educational Benefits Of The Bsf

I have learned that a good number of people have the same views as myself, and a good number don't. For me it all makes for a bit of fun - unless it gets too personal, which it does on occasion. Over all though, a bit of sensible argument and discussion makes for a bit of enjoyment and fun. -

They say these things go in cycles. I wonder when Great Britain's next cycle comes along? We've waited a long time since the Seventies.

Blimey!!! These Engine Tuners must be making a bloody fortune.

Me especially........................................... -
I think you might be right Sidney. There is something about that at the back of my mind. Back in the Sixties or Seventies I think. This from this Forum back in 2008. Hope this helps Sidney.
