  1. Cheers for this gustix - I will spend a bit of time on this Site when I get the chance. :approve:
  2. I have learned that a good number of people have the same views as myself, and a good number don't. For me it all makes for a bit of fun - unless it gets too personal, which it does on occasion. Over all though, a bit of sensible argument and discussion makes for a bit of enjoyment and fun.
  3. They say these things go in cycles. I wonder when Great Britain's next cycle comes along? We've waited a long time since the Seventies.
  4. Peter Craven Fred Williams Ove Fundin Tom Farndon Eric Langton I reckon that would be my top five steve. Great Thread.
  5. Blimey!!! These Engine Tuners must be making a bloody fortune.
  6. Me especially...........................................
  7. I think you might be right Sidney. There is something about that at the back of my mind. Back in the Sixties or Seventies I think. This from this Forum back in 2008. Hope this helps Sidney.
  8. Retro Speedway have some great Publications. Two new ones recently. See 'Link': http://www.retro-speedway.com/ Titles of the new ones are Backtracking 1 & 2. Hope this helps.
  9. Oh noooooooooo Dandelion. You don't mean that do you?
  10. I see where you are coming from wkha1, however, not all of us are "sports stat geeks."
  11. So I suppose that you can draw from this, that honesty is NOT the best policy.
  12. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Brandon Estates considering Residents? More to do with MONEY I would guess. More importantly - will this be the end of Speedway at Brandon? I sincerely hope NOT!!!!!
  13. Just a thought. I wonder if some people are put off Speedway by the complicated Average System and some of the more ridiculous Rules?
  14. He reall was Rob. He was always ready to chat, was always very friendly. I liked him very much. I think everybody did at Sunderland.
  15. I first saw Vic ride for Sunderland in 1974. He was very well thought of by all at Sunderland Speedway. R.I.P. + Vic.
  16. Let's hope the Police can move them on pretty damned quick. I hope there isn't any further damage to the Stadium to add to that already done.
  17. I'm sort of with you on that Sidney. I do like my Team to win though - as long as they do it fair and square and not through contrived results.
  18. I agree with you. But it does look rather odd. The British Champion riding in the Second Division. There is a precedent for this though. Jack Young, of Edinburgh Monarchs won the World Championship as a Second Division Rider back in 1951.
  19. It was, yes. But that was matterless Second Halves where the Riders could and did put on a show. Speedway is supposed to be an Entertainment as well as a Sport you know. I used to enjoy the Second Halves too Sidney.
  20. I like Roy. When I was going he had just the right balance of fun for the kids and knowledgeable comment for the adult. Personally I never forget - "The lean green racing machine that is - Andrew Tully". Also I think Barry Wallace deserves praise for his work as the Announcer at Newcastle - oh - I nearly forgot - and Sunderland back in the day................
