  1. Arson Fire might have something to say about that.
  2. I didn't know that Britmet. He was obviously very much better than I remember.
  3. 1. Sverre Harrfeldt 2. Dag Lovaas 3. Reidar Eide 4. Edgar Stangland 5. Oyvind Berg
  4. We were discussing Pit Rules and Regulations. Riders themselves wear Boots anyway - we are discussing the case of a Mechanic. In this instance a Rider who was acting as a Mechanic for a Rider during the Meeting - we were not discussing Riders per sé.
  5. NOT everybody. My Team through thick or thin used to be my motto.
  6. Very true - but what happened to the old Team ethic. You know - the days when our Riders were just that - our Riders. Riders who we got to know and socialised with. All gone now sadly.
  7. I believe you are right. I don't think they do give a hoot. All I am saying is that sensible precautions could save a lot of trouble further down the line and that should, at the very least, be considered. There is a lot of Health and Safety Rules that even I consider unnecessary. But in a dangerous environment like a Speedway Pits, some form of sensible Rules and Regulations should/must apply. I would be interested to know if Speedway actually does Risk Assessments etc. Just out of interest.
  8. Sometimes it makes you wonder if there is any such thing as a Speedway 'Team'. Your Town, City or whatever nowadays is represented by a group of journeyman Riders and not by a Team as we used to understand the word.
  9. A superb act by young Liam. He is to be praised very highly for this. Let's hope that SPORTSMANSHIP is returning once more to Speedway. Well done Liam, you have set a great example for others to follow - you have my total admiration.
  10. I would like to agree with you The Dean Machine - but I don't. As a professional Speedway Rider Josh has a Career to protect - his own. Worst case scenario: Just for argument's sake, say that someone is carrying an Engine to a Bike and slips on some oil, drops the Engine which then lands on Grajonek' leg and foot thus breaking the leg. Result - Josh is out for some considerable time, the Meeting is held up for the Paramedic to attend Josh, the Ambulance takes Josh to Hospital and has to return if there is only one Ambulance. All of this takes time. All of this could have happened because of one pair of Flip-Flops - I ask you - is the risk worth it? Add to that, the Track itself could be sued by Josh for not adhering to proper Health and Safety Standards in the Pits. I know I sound like a bit of a prat - but these things have to be considered surely.
  11. Cheers Dave. My memory gets worse by the day. You must forgive me.
  12. Have to say - as a former Health and Safety Officer in my work life - I noticed that on the Television. I wondered where the Health and Safety people were?
  13. Hyde Road - best Track I have ever seen - but I thought we were discussing present day Tracks. Sorry. I have not been to the National Speedway Stadium yet - so I can't really comment truthfully on that one. I have never been to Torun or Bydgoszcz either. As I said - Redcar is the best Track I have seen to date, in the modern era, and for the pedants, Belle Vue, Hyde Road the best I have ever seen. I do hope this helps..
  14. Yes - I noticed that. I think it is a shame really, because there have been some terrific Premier League Meetings on SKY in the past............. I wonder why? Perhaps the so called top League do not want to give any money to the Championship? Just guessing.
  15. No chance of a Speedway Track being incorporated in to the proposed new Stadium I suppose?
  16. 1. Hans Nielsen 2. Erik Gundersen 3. Ole Olsen 4. Nikki Pedersen 5. Jan O. Pedersen
  17. I certainly agree with you Sidney. Briggo would/should have won in 1972 had it not been for Persson. That is one thing of which I am totally convinced.
  18. If you see my highlighted bit in tmc's Post that I quoted OFF.
  19. Whey hey!!! Michanek and myself have something in common. :approve:
  20. Perhaps the best Track I have seen was Redcar when it first opened. That was down to Glyn Taylor.
  21. Seems like a bit of sharp practice to me. If you had owed them £20.19 they would have been after you quick enough. No the wonder some Companies get a bad name. I am not thinking of changing my provider at present but if I was, I would avoid talktalk like the plague. Thanks for the tip Bruno.
