  1. Damn it!!! I have run out of 'Likes'. I like your Post Dandelion. :approve:
  2. The answer to that is yes, in my opinion. Good grief!!! - you don't want to bring morals in to a discussion on Speedway.
  3. Just one thing to alter - I am going to have a go myself. If I get stuck I'll get back to you. EDIT: Hi Dandelion I did it!!!! Thank you so much for your help. I have joined Wikipedia. Ian.
  4. My preferred option is as RPNYC says 3 for a Win, 1 for a Draw and nothing for Losing. Straightforward and to the point. Dead easy and no reason for anyone to be confused. I think keeping things simple is the way to go, it is a simple Sport. Or it would be if the Rules weren't continually changed to suit one Track/Promoter or another. Speedway isn't big on credibility sadly. It is OK - but a little confusing to some.
  5. I think there is a lot of merit in this. Perhaps if we start at the bottom, we may unearth a future Peter Collins, Michael Lee or a Mark Loram in time. It's all going to hell in a handcart at present.
  6. It would if said Tracks are in rented Stadia. They may only have the option of one night only. If it wasn't, then your solution is going to close down a Track. Do I take it that certain Tracks are expendable then? Because I think that that situation would be highly probable. I was just about to say you were wrong. Then I did the Math as the Americans would say.
  7. How very true that is. Perhaps they should try tightening the Contracts up, so they are more Legally binding.
  8. Thank you very much for that Dandelion. You are a superstar. Again - many thanks. Ian.
  9. John Berry said a lot of very sensible things. Would that he was around and involved in Speedway these days.
  10. Belle Vue did it the right way. The evidence for this is the excellent Racing at the Track. Their template should be used in any future (hopefully) new purpose built Tracks/Stadia.
  11. The List doesn't even mention the Sunderland 1964 Team.
  12. I think this is an interesting initiative. I look forward to hearing more about it. Be interesting to know the Promoter's view of the proposal though. If done properly it could bring great benefit to Speedway. If not done properly, or if it just becomes a talking then they might as well not bother. Very good luck with it though.
  13. Personally I would reverse that and say that we need the Bikes to suit the Tracks............
  14. I'm not shutting you down. I just don't think your idea, which certainly has a lot of merit, in my opinion, will be implemented because of the lack of foresight by the Speedway Authorities.
  15. On the face of it - that sounds like a very good idea. A win, win for everyone, Clubs, Riders and Supporters. It won't happen though for the reason highlighted above.
  16. Is that before they have eaten it - or afterwards? :nono: Mine neither. (Seriously) it is frightening.
  17. I have said this before, but at Sunderland Speedway we worked on the Track and paid our Entrance Fee in order to cut costs and keep our Speedway Team. We still didn't do enough sadly.
  18. Or alternatively Contract for one Season only. Still won't affect one of the main problems in Speedway though, and that is the lack of contact these days between Riders and Supporters.
  19. That sums it all up really. If you have a decent Team and all of that in Speedway - you have everything. Except an Independent body to manage the Sport.
  20. Crumbs!!! I hope you have got a tin hat.
