  1. At least I can stand by my principles. You can't even Debate without getting personal. I'll leave the more intelligent on this Forum to make that judgement.
  2. That would certainly be better than the alternative. Making the Premiership stronger ant the expense of the Championship is a none starter for me. The Premiership has got itself in to it's own particular mess regarding number of Teams in it. Why should the Championship be turned in to a worse and less competative League just because the Premiership can't get enough Teams. Four Clubs out of the Championship would wreck it - and more to the point, the powers that be know that. They did enough damage this year. This was a decent Debate until you arrived. Have you nothing positive/negative to contribute as usual?
  3. I would argue that the Championship/Premier League has done very nicely thank you over the last few years on it's own. The only people who want to change things by and large are the Elite/Premiership League. They are the ones taking Riders from Championship Teams. Now they are trying to take Teams from the Championship too. I certainly hope that this does NOT happen. Doubling down should all be stopped.
  4. I have no doubt that 'who cares' will be the prevailing attitude. As long as the Top League is catered for, in many people's minds, that is all that matters. Very sad but very true.
  5. Some went home after Heat 13 at Sunderland - but the majority stayed on to enjoy the Second Half. Personally - I am with scarra on this one BW. You could argue that those going home make their choice - it is up to them.
  6. Certainly not the poor benighted Supporters don't. The only card they have to play is whether to go or not. It is a pretty good card though - I play it myself.
  7. Totally correct. To be honest I find it difficult to understand how some of the lower ability Riders can afford it at all.
  8. I can't believe you never mention Dan Bewley Sid. He is the best prospect I have seen for many years.
  9. I'm sorry but I totally disagree with that. It isn't a weak argument at all. You go along to watch your Team riding and are confronted by a bunch of Riders who have nothing to do with your Club as has just happened this week. What is the point of that?
  10. Great Post with which I almost totally agree enotian. I sadly can't argue with you. But as so so rightly say "Pandora's box is open" now. I don't even pretend to have the answers, but if Speedway wishes to continue a few realities have to be faced by the powers that be. At the moment they either do not recognize the problem or they don't know what to do about it. At the end of the day, The Dean Machine is right - people will support a Speedway TEAM - as long as that is what it is - a TEAM. I support the England Cricket TEAM I support Sunderland Football TEAM - you get my drift. TEAM is the operative word - not a hotch potch of Riders with a Racejacket stuck on. Some people may not like that - but it is true.
  11. Back to personal attacks I see. Trolling and Bullying is the name of your game - isn't it? It is only a minor irritation but I can live with it. I'm surprised you haven't given up after your previous rather pathetic attempts. If you are part of the intelligentsia - I will be happy to remain thick. You will note that I never called you anything that you are not in this Post.
  12. Not all of us SCB. :nono: A lot of us can see what is going on in Speedway - but we can't do anything about it - and THAT is the problem. I am staying away because of my gripe.
  13. When I went to Speedway, I wanted to see MY Team, MY Riders who I could identify with. I liked feeling part of the whole Team thing. Since that has, more or less, all gone from the Sport, what is left is a mere shadow of what Speedway used to be. What the Promoters fail to grasp is that half of the pleasure of going to the Speedway was talking with your Riders, socialising with your Riders and you would follow your Team away, recognise Riders who would, if they saw you, give you a wave. Nowadays when Riders come out on to the Track a lot (probably most) don't even look at the Crowd who have paid to come and see them, they just trudge towards their Bikes. That is the way I see it anyway.
  14. I very much sympathise with that viewpoint.
  15. There we have it. I still would very much like to know what happens if one Team doesn't want to go down and the other one doesn't want to go up? Not beyond the bounds of possibility. Do they just hold the Meeting, take the money from the Supporters and then - at the A.G.M. decide perhaps we had better leave things as they are? We don't want to force anybody to go up or to go down. What would the Promotion/Relegation Meeting mean then? A total waste of time and Supporters paying for something that doesn't happen. I'm only asking the question here. Any answers? As I said earlier - interesting times ahead.
  16. Sadly, by the sound of things, this new Stadium is looking more and more dodgy by the day. However we must have faith.
