  1. Speedway Rules are FAR too complicated for a Rolling Average Bloke like me.
  2. I think everyone should agree to disagree on this one. The subject has just about been done to death on BOTH sides of the argument.
  3. DEFINITELY George Barclay on the outside. Can't help with the others though................................................. Sorry.
  4. I must take issue (pun intended) with you there Humphrey - they are all EXCELLENT Issues. :approve:
  5. Couldn't agree more - I have them both too. Where oh where is The '60's'. I hope to see the '70's' before I shuffle off this mortal coil - it's the one I REALLY want to get my hands on.
  6. Pete Wigley is in good form and regularly attends our Sunderland Reunion.
  7. Ooops - I was using an OLD Link. The real Site is working fine. Apologies for Posting this. Must be my age......................................................................
  8. Anyone know what is going on with this Site? I went on to buy Tickets for tomorrow and it isn't working. If anyone out there knows anything - please advise. Thank you. Ian.
  9. Does it really matter HOW and WHEN he signed? Plymouth have got themselves a great Rider in my opinion. I bet the Plymouth Supporters will just be pleased that he has signed. Well done to Plymouth - and - Good Luck to them.
  10. Still think, overall PC was the better Rider sidney. I would, only just, pick Peter ahead of Michael every time. If the chips were down - you could usually rely on Peter to come up with the goods. That what it's all about though. Your opinion is as valid as mine sidney. :)
  11. We are talking about Tom Farndon and others (see above) sixty or seventy years after the event - why not Craven and Collins in twenty/thirty years time? We still talk about Freddie Williams too. :approve:
  12. I honestly believe that Peter Craven will STILL be talked about in twenty or thirty years - so, I think, will Peter Collins. THAT is the mark of a true - 'Great'.
  13. EXCELLENT Post racers and royals. Thank you. A great 'Taster' for the new Season. :approve:
  14. Difficult to argue with that oldace - as long as Peter Craven was No.1. :)
  15. As the GREAT Roy Castle used to say/sing........................................................ ............................dedication is what you need (if you want to be the BEST)
  16. On another Thread I queried a nickname of Arthur Forrest being known as the 'Black Prince'. Chunky kindly confirmed this for me. However this got me thinking (always a dangerous thing in my case ). I know that Speedway had loads of Riders who had these Nicknames like 'The Red Devil' - Frank Varey, 'Mighty' Mauger, Millen 'the Villain', Ronnie (Mirac) Moore I wonder how he got that name? Also 'Split' Waterman - how did he get saddled with that name? Anyway - I just thought it might be fun to see how many others we could come up with and, if possible, how those Nicknames were earned. Graeme Smith was known as 'The White Knight' - hence my name on this Forum. He rode in white leathers. :)
  17. Wasn't Arthur Forrest known as the 'Black Prince' Norbold?
  18. Come on Tony - What about some Northern Tracks? Belle Vue has a great History - surely a set of DVDs for the only Club that has ridden continuously since it started. Perhaps a compilation set of DVDs on Northern Tracks like Edinburgh, Glasgow, Berwick, Workington, Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough/Redcar, Bradford, Hull would be possible.
  19. Whe - me like. Nivvor. Ah nivvor dee nee storrin. :drink:
  20. Well - I reckon that sorts THAT out anyway. :approve:
