  1. Ludwig Lindgren is a Newcastle 'Diamond's Rider next Season. See Link below: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100096
  2. I would have thought that was the business of the Riders involved, not yours, mine or anybody elses.
  3. Aye!! That's the problem - far too many Foreigners in the Premier League in my opinion. Stifling BRITISH Talent.
  4. I think that the Team so far looks reasonably competative. It appears we have gone for all round strength again next year. Nothing wrong with that - it served us well last Season. All in all - I am happy with what I am seeing. Andrew Tully I have always liked - I just hope that he can hit the ground running (riding actually ). He is a good Rider - but - we must wait and see. As for the other lads - I am delighted they are back. As I said earlier, sad about Ned - but - I wish him well wherever he goes. It WOULD be good if Jason King could return fully fit. I don't know the ins and outs of the Rules - but - it would be good too if Paul Starke could be signed up as No. 8. He never let us down last Season and looks like a real talent given time to develop. VERDICT: This Team will be in with a chance in most Competitions - we can ask for no more than that. :t:
  5. I must say I am surprised, and a bit sad, that Ned isn't in the Teams Plans for next year. However I am sure that George and the other Promoters will give us a Team worthy of our Support. ROLL ON MARCH!!
  6. GREAT News for all at Plymouth Speedway. Let's all hope that the 'Devils' go from strength to strength from now on. I'm really chuffed about this - it has made my day.
  7. Another question has occurred to me. What does Freddie think about the state of Tracks nowadays. Does he, like me, think that they are far too slick these days - or - does he believe that there should be more Dirt on the Tracks? His opinions on 'Laydown' Engines may be of interest too.
  8. Not on last Season's results. We finished top of the League without an 'out and out' Number One. To be honest - there is a chance of either Ludwig, Richie or possibly Ned actually developing in to a Number One. This is obviously hypothetical at present, as to date, no-one has signed up.
  9. I would like to know if Freddie thinks Speedway has Progressed or Regressed over the last fifty or sixty years. How does he rate the Grand Prix as against the 'one off' World Final? Finally - does he have any views on Rider (British) Training and does he think we will ever again have a British Rider winning the World Championship. Hope this helps. Ian.
  10. Personally I think it is all wrong. It most certainly isn't fair and will, quite justifiably, pee off the Riders. We will just have to wait and see what happens - but - I can see trouble ahead...............
  11. Difficult to argue with Carl on this one. Why does this Rule only apply to one League?
  12. I hope that Ludwig IS part of the 'Diamonds' set up next Season. I enjoyed watching him ride. :approve:
  13. I agree that the old System was not perfect but we are supposed to have progressed - I just think that instead of sticking with the very flawed System that we have at present we should be trying to find a workable System that is Fair to all. Surely THAT is not impossible - or - is it? Ah well - I'm off to smash up a few Looms now.
  14. (Sigh  ) In honesty Dave - probably not. Does that make me a hypocrite - it probably does. Does it make any difference to my detestation of the Rule - no it doesn't - not one jot. The probability is that I will not walk away from Newcastle either when the new Season comes round - but, my goodness I DO feel like it every time I see the Black and White Helmet Cover. Before you comment Dave - it has NOTHING to do with the fact that the Helmet Cover is Black and White. I would feel EXACTLY the same if it was Red and White!! What - even if that word is 'UNFAIR' - I'm surprised at you HT.
  15. THIS is why I complain about the GP Qualification System Iris123. Another possible reason is to make sure that somebody pseudo British is riding at Cardiff (give the locals something to cheer) - ie. Put 'bums' on seats. This could also be done via the 'Wild Card' System. Another rather pathetic System designed to increase Attendances at the various Tracks (it has certainly nothing to do with Sport). Do they not realise that this particular bit of jiggery pokery is costing a bona fide Rider, with a chance of winning the World Championship a place in the Competition? As you say - the Television (SKY) may have had something to do with it too - it doesn't matter - it is wrong. For heavens sake - let's get back to Riders being in the GPs because they have qualified and NOT because of where they come from. Speedway lacks credibility in SO many ways - that should NOT be evidenced in it's, so called, premier Events.
  16. ................and my point is that you cannot have the BEST field ever if Woffinden takes his place instead of a previous GP Winner (Jensen). I have no axe to grind with Woffy - but - the ONLY reason he is in the GP Series is because he is BRITISH (sort of). Well - I am sorry but in my book getting in because of your Nationality is just not right. In fact it is DEAD WRONG!!!
  17. It probably WON'T be on the Television though - SKY have seen to that. As for the Riders in next years GPs - they SHOULD be good - they have been 'PICKED' because they are the BEST Riders, and that is my point 'PICKED'. If you can tell me how Tai Wooffinden gets in to the Series and Michael Jepsen Jensen doesn't, and then say that it is a level playing field to qualify for the World Championship - I would be interested in hearing your reasoning.
  18. Sorry - Regionalisation gets a big NO from me. I like to see variation, the idea of seeing Redcar, Workington etc. every other week would become boring. Before Redcar and Workington Supporters go down my neck - I am only using them as an example.
  19. Fair enough HT - but - they are both, provably, very good arguments. Those arguments should not be dismissed out of hand.
  20. THAT is one view oldace - and I respect it. I just don't agree with you in this instance.
  21. I thought Ostergaard was a very good signing. Totally agree about Kus.
  22. i) Not only newcomers to the Sport. ii) Oh yes it does HT - I know we will never agree on this but believe me - it does.
  23. You are right - I can't stand EITHER of them. Double Standards RUBBISH. I have differing views to you and that is all. The League (Double Points) and the 'Play Offs' have absolutely NOTHING to do with this Thread. Continue to carp on if you must - but - you are on your own.
  24. Sorry - I did not answer your question - no double standards - just didn't. To answer, as I thought I had in previous Posts - the UNPREDICTABILITY of it all - THAT is why. Sometimes it is good when the underdog wins. You, it appears, just want the 'same old, same old'. That is your opinion, as I said - I don't agree with it - BUT - I respect it. Perhaps you should try respecting the other person's point of view.
