  1. oooops!! You are right. Apologies Gavan - I read it the wrong way.
  2. I don't want to 'PICK' my top eight, their top eight or anybodies top eight - I want them ALL to b****y QUALIFY through Qualifying Meetings. That is all I want.
  3. Fingers, Toes and everything crossed for Plymouth. Those Supporters DESERVE a Speedway Team. Let's just hope that common sense prevails.
  4. Aaaaahhhhh - fair takes me back. :approve:
  5. Why don't you just award the sixteen places to the Riders you like - and then nobody else will have a chance? Ooops!! I forgot. That is the way it is going these days................................................
  6. How did this Company become so powerful in Speedway. It seems to work great for the Elite League but leaves the Premier/National Leagues out in the cold for Television Coverage. I think that this is a disgrace. How about the Premier/National League Promoters going to the Monopolies Commission? If necessary the two 'lower' Leagues should split with the Elite League and go their own way - over Rules, Television Rights and everything.
  7. Firstly - ALL Riders are trying to win the Race - but - in the Elite League very often TWO Riders get tailed off and THAT part of the Race becomes a battle for THIRD Place. This does not happen so often in the Premier League, often all FOUR Riders are in with a chance of winning the Race. Ergo - that means better Racing as all four Riders are involved. As regards to how many Elite League Meetings I attend - the truthful answer is none. However I watch an Elite League Meeting EVERY week on SKY Television. So from that point I do know what I am talking about. Now YOU orion - how many Premier League Meetings do you attend?
  8. OUCH!! I remembered the first one Parsloes but had completely forgotten about the second. In anybody's book they are a couple of hidings.
  9. Sorry - I don't agree with that. My Son is a Football fanatic and would watch it 24 hours a day if he could. Me, I only really like Speedway and Cricket so I don't want to pay for it on Pay Per View - I have it already. orion - Not for the first time - try reading the Post properly.
  10. Perhaps the reason for the Premier League Supporters singing it's praises is because you see decent Racing most of the time. You see all four Riders trying to win - whereas - in the Elite League you quite often see TWO Riders Racing for the Win and TWO Riders racing for Third Place. Usually the two racing for the Third Place are Premier League Riders anyway. There IS more variety in the Premier League - there are more Tracks - so that fact is self evident. As for Crowds - well Speedway is suffering a general malaise at present. Support is falling in ALL Leagues. Not at all Tracks though. Unless, of course, SKY Television is there.
  11. I thought that 'the Man from the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement' (U.N.C.L.E.) was: Napoleon Solo. Illya Kuryakin was his sidekick.
  12. Thanks for that RPG. Nice to know that he is getting about.
  13. Cracking first paragraph Aleksandr. You are right with what you say in the rest of your Post too - BUT, and it is a big but - I understand Gospeed own the Television Rights for ALL Speedway in this Country. Basically SKY 'cherry pick' the Elite League (in their opinion) and I'm afraid the rest of the Teams/Leagues don't matter.
  14. I'm not too sure about that Dinosaur. Time will tell however.
  15. In name only Dave. I much prefer Premier League Racing. Sorry.
  16. Personally, I hope Gary does not take to the Track again. He has had a very long and distinguished career in Speedway. He is a former World Champion - you don't get much better than that. I have two reasons for not wanting him to Race again, firstly I would hate to see Gary injured further, the body can only take so much punishment. Secondly - I want to remember Gary Havelock as the GREAT Rider he was - I would take no pleasure in seeing him being beaten by opposition Reserves. Gary will always be a LEGEND to those on Teesside and elsewhere - that is the way he should stay. Drac - I agree with you about the Home and Away Meetings with Poole - a GREAT idea. :approve:
  17. Would it not be better if all Posts were referencing Gary's situation. Squabbling like this seems a little pointless to me. Title of Thread seems reasonable too - I know where the complainants are coming from - however - this IS a Forum for friendly chatter, information etc. Surely we can all be mature enough to check out the Post first BEFORE assuming anything.
  18. Odd this!! There does not seem to be much on this Thread about Gary Havelock, how he is or will he ride again. Puzzled.
  19. Perhaps if EVERYONE had to go through Qualifying Rounds - things would be different.
  20. I've got a good suggestion for the GPs. Put some b****y DIRT on the Tracks !! ...........and no - I am not anti Dane.
  21. Given the time of year:- LIGHT THE BLUE TOUCHPAPER AND RETIRE !!!
