The White Knight replied to challenger's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Crikey1874 - you forgot about the PIES. The one's from the Shed at the back of the Pits are to die for - if you want a true culinary experience - treat yourself to one of those PIES. Only one thing better than a PIE at Berwick and that is - TWO of them. Go on - give it a go - you know you want to. -

How about each Rider selects a piece of music as his signature tune. Riders walk out individually from the Pits to the row of bikes at the Starting Gate to his own music. Rather like Cricket does in the T20 Matches. It would add a bit of glitz and glamour and I doubt it would cost a lot to do. Their Tune could also be played as each Rider emerges from the Pits to go to the Starting Gate to Race. Obviously each Rider would emerge one at a time - it may add a few seconds between Races - but it might get the youngsters interested. Just an idea. Not even sure if it is practical - but - perhaps worth a thought. -

As a practicing Roman Catholic - I don't like blasphemy. I will not reply to you any further on this Thread unless you apologise, at least for that. -

The White Knight replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
But WHERE, WHERE have I lied - I honestly don't know. If you are going to Post something like that about someone - you need to back it up with EVIDENCE so that if I am in error I can apologise. I cannot and will not apologise for something when I don't know what the hell you are talking about. True I don't like the GPs - but - I have not lied about my dislike or about my reasons for so doing. All I ask is that you back up your statement with evidence or withdraw your comment. (about me telling lies - I resent it, I have NEVER called anyone on this Forum a Liar - I wouldn't - mistaken maybe, as I could be, but NEVER A LIAR). Thank you. Ian -

The White Knight replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
So what - the unexpected can still be entertaining you know - it shouldn't be the same old faces every year. Year in year out it is currently the same old faces in the GPs. The whole thing needs shaking up - we have had two Forty plus year old World Champions because of the current System - why are people so frightened of opening the whole thing up? -
Oh dear!! We'll just have to put up with Robbo. Wel I for one am VERY PLEASED about that. :t:

2013 Best Ever Gp Line Up?
The White Knight replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I agree about the Eastern Block getting their allocation of Riders to the World Final was wrong and devalued the Competition - but - now the Eastern Block no longer exists. We could now have a FAIR Qualifying System for ALL Riders - if you make the Top Sixteen you get to the Final (GPs or whatever) if you don't make it - you don't. No avenues for anyone else to get there apart from the Qualifying Rounds. If there is no British Rider qualifying for the top Sixteen - tough, if Greg Hancock misses out in a Qualifying Round - tough, if Chris Holder can't make it - tough. THAT is what true Sport is about - success or failure. If people want the GP Series - then fine - but - for heavens sake let's ensure that we get the best Rider, that year, as World Champion. -

I don't want to 'PICK' my top eight, their top eight or anybodies top eight - I want them ALL to b****y QUALIFY through Qualifying Meetings. That is all I want. -

Why don't you just award the sixteen places to the Riders you like - and then nobody else will have a chance? Ooops!! I forgot. That is the way it is going these days................................................ -
Odds On North & South Pl 2013?
The White Knight replied to greyhoundp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
How did this Company become so powerful in Speedway. It seems to work great for the Elite League but leaves the Premier/National Leagues out in the cold for Television Coverage. I think that this is a disgrace. How about the Premier/National League Promoters going to the Monopolies Commission? If necessary the two 'lower' Leagues should split with the Elite League and go their own way - over Rules, Television Rights and everything. -

The White Knight replied to msc1874's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Firstly - ALL Riders are trying to win the Race - but - in the Elite League very often TWO Riders get tailed off and THAT part of the Race becomes a battle for THIRD Place. This does not happen so often in the Premier League, often all FOUR Riders are in with a chance of winning the Race. Ergo - that means better Racing as all four Riders are involved. As regards to how many Elite League Meetings I attend - the truthful answer is none. However I watch an Elite League Meeting EVERY week on SKY Television. So from that point I do know what I am talking about. Now YOU orion - how many Premier League Meetings do you attend? -

Sorry - I don't agree with that. My Son is a Football fanatic and would watch it 24 hours a day if he could. Me, I only really like Speedway and Cricket so I don't want to pay for it on Pay Per View - I have it already. orion - Not for the first time - try reading the Post properly. -

Perhaps the reason for the Premier League Supporters singing it's praises is because you see decent Racing most of the time. You see all four Riders trying to win - whereas - in the Elite League you quite often see TWO Riders Racing for the Win and TWO Riders racing for Third Place. Usually the two racing for the Third Place are Premier League Riders anyway. There IS more variety in the Premier League - there are more Tracks - so that fact is self evident. As for Crowds - well Speedway is suffering a general malaise at present. Support is falling in ALL Leagues. Not at all Tracks though. Unless, of course, SKY Television is there. -
I thought that 'the Man from the United Network Command for Law and Enforcement' (U.N.C.L.E.) was: Napoleon Solo. Illya Kuryakin was his sidekick.

Cracking first paragraph Aleksandr. You are right with what you say in the rest of your Post too - BUT, and it is a big but - I understand Gospeed own the Television Rights for ALL Speedway in this Country. Basically SKY 'cherry pick' the Elite League (in their opinion) and I'm afraid the rest of the Teams/Leagues don't matter.
