Pl Television Coverage
The White Knight replied to msc1874's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Is that a typo - or - is it correct. If correct it is a trifle harsh don't you think. -
GREAT to see you back sidney - I've missed you. :approve:

I just wish they had left this as it was. 'If it ain't bust don't fix it' springs to mind. There MUST be other ways of shaving a few bob off Costs.

2013 Best Ever Gp Line Up?
The White Knight replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You are giving me my point here SC. Obviously the financial returns from the GP series outweigh the Sporting necessity to find the TRUE World Champion. Who knows? Michel Jepsen Jensen could possibly have won the Title in 2013 - we will never know now. I am only using him as an example, but, as I say, he could possibly have won the whole thing - sadly I reckon there is absolutely no chance of Tai doing so. I wish there was.............................. Also, as I have said previously - it does not make it right. (the selection process). -

Nice one Parsloes - you made me smile. :) -
OUCH!!!

Thank you for that folks. The reasons for closure given by the Promoters was bad Weather and lack of Crowds - NOT TRUE. See full story here: http://www.sunderlandspeedway.co.uk/stats/1964/1964_Season.html

2013 Best Ever Gp Line Up?
The White Knight replied to Gavan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As I said in my earlier Post - surely it is not beyond the whit of man to find a System that is fair to all. I, at least partly, agree with you about the old System for the 'one off' World Finals - but - 'two wrongs do not make a right'. I STILL don't believe that Woofinden should be in the GP Series - ther should be NO PLACE for TOKENS as you put it. As for Formula One - I am not really interested, nor do I care what happens in that Sport - I support Speedway - about that I DO care. -
It would be very difficult to bring Speedway Star out as a 'Daily'. In these days of high technology, Internet etc. it is hardly surprising that you have already heard some of the News therein, though not ALL of it. I think you are being a trifle harsh there squall.

Please could you advise me? Do Sunderland 'Saints' get much of a mention? Thank you. Ian.

I recommend a look. It really is an EXCELLENT Site. :approve:

Ludwig Lindgren is a Newcastle 'Diamond's Rider next Season. See Link below: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100096

I would have thought that was the business of the Riders involved, not yours, mine or anybody elses.

North And South Premier League
The White Knight replied to Eric Parsons's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Aye!! That's the problem - far too many Foreigners in the Premier League in my opinion. Stifling BRITISH Talent. -
I think that the Team so far looks reasonably competative. It appears we have gone for all round strength again next year. Nothing wrong with that - it served us well last Season. All in all - I am happy with what I am seeing. Andrew Tully I have always liked - I just hope that he can hit the ground running (riding actually ). He is a good Rider - but - we must wait and see. As for the other lads - I am delighted they are back. As I said earlier, sad about Ned - but - I wish him well wherever he goes. It WOULD be good if Jason King could return fully fit. I don't know the ins and outs of the Rules - but - it would be good too if Paul Starke could be signed up as No. 8. He never let us down last Season and looks like a real talent given time to develop. VERDICT: This Team will be in with a chance in most Competitions - we can ask for no more than that. :t:
-
I must say I am surprised, and a bit sad, that Ned isn't in the Teams Plans for next year. However I am sure that George and the other Promoters will give us a Team worthy of our Support. ROLL ON MARCH!!

GREAT News for all at Plymouth Speedway. Let's all hope that the 'Devils' go from strength to strength from now on. I'm really chuffed about this - it has made my day.

Freddie Williams Interview - Any Questions?
The White Knight replied to TonyMac's topic in Years Gone By
Another question has occurred to me. What does Freddie think about the state of Tracks nowadays. Does he, like me, think that they are far too slick these days - or - does he believe that there should be more Dirt on the Tracks? His opinions on 'Laydown' Engines may be of interest too. -
Not on last Season's results. We finished top of the League without an 'out and out' Number One. To be honest - there is a chance of either Ludwig, Richie or possibly Ned actually developing in to a Number One. This is obviously hypothetical at present, as to date, no-one has signed up.
