Haha - that takes me back Arson - used to watch Grange Hill with my son.
Do you remember 'Booga' Benson and 'Gripper' Stebson? oh yes and 'Bullet' the PE Master.
I have met and like Middlo - but - as I say - IF he did say what he is quoted as saying then he should resign as TeamGB Manager. I am NOT sniping at him - but what he is alleged to have said is not acceptable from a person in his position.
Ward is just a puerile prat.
Yeah!!
Trading fairness and Good Sportsmanship for the Cash rewards of the 'Play Offs'.
Sold Speedway's credibility down the river. Thirty pieces of silver spring to mind - a betrayal of the word Sport.
GREAT isn't it?
I agree it sound odd - BUT - the National Team Manager is a far higher profile job than a League Team Manager. Speedway needs to keep it's nose clean if it wishes to raise it's profile. Speaking as Poole Manager carries a lot less weight than speaking as a TeamGB Manager.
That is what I meant.
Reluctantly I have to go along with the majority on this issue. I think Neil Middleditch is a very good Team Manager for both Poole and TeamGB. I believe that if he made the remarks attributed to him, then his position is untenable with a high profile position like Manager of TeamGB. As such he should resign.
He should still carry on as Manager of Poole though.
You know Dean Machine - I think you just about covered it there. EXCELLENT Post. :approve:
You are right about the 'laydowns' too - if a little understated.
Well said Arson. If I was younger- I would be there, but arthritic hands have put a stop to that.
I used to work on the track at Boldon when Sunderland were running.
Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochrane, Marty Wilde, Bobby Darin, Elvis, Lonnie Donegan, Tommy Steel, Dion and the Belmonts, The Everly Brothers and Johnny Cash - the list goes on.
I thought Hank Williams was great too - but he was the 40's.
