  1. Well I actually agree with sidney on the bit you highlighted.
  2. We have to be patient. I expect one or two mistakes to occur early in the Season as Eurosport get used to a different style of Motorcycle Racing. Very best of luck to them though - and I think that Thanks are due to them for picking up our wonderful Sport that is SPEEDWAY.
  3. Sorry to hear about this Arson. May he Rest in Peace +
  4. I must admit - I am looking forward to seeing how Eurosport handle the GPs. :approve: Roll on Saturday.
  5. Sad news this - I really rated Ryan as a class act. Best wishes to him for the future and I hope he isn't lost to Speedway altogether.
  6. sidney has as much right to his opinion as you do BW. I think most of the TOP Riders of yesteryear would have found a way to be top of the tree today. I can't prove it - but - I am allowed to think/believe it - I hope. I errrm THINK I understand what you are trying to say here - but - I am not certain. Perhaps some clarification is due.
  7. Part of the reason for the 'long' Interval is so that the Promoter can make sure that plenty of Cash is taken in the various Bars or Bar. It is not conducive to good Customer Relations though. You are standing there, freezing cold, waiting for the next Race. It's only the diehards like us 'old gits' who are prepared to put up with it. Far too many cases of Riders returning to the Pits after a false start - everything seems geared to delaying things. Speedway Meetings should be FAST AND FURIOUS - like the Racing. Sadly - it isn't.
  8. Two definitely - Zenon Plech and Edward Jancarz, possibly Andrzej Wyglenda, not too sure about him though. Any others?..............................................................................
  9. Back in the '70's and 80's that's what most Riders did. They found ways of fitting Speedway Meetings around their working schedule. I actually know a Rider at Newcastle who had to ride at Exeter - he took the afternoon off as a holiday and then drove down to Exeter, rode in the Match, and his wife drove him home again whilst he slept in the car. He arrived home at about five o'clock in the morning in time for a cup of tea and then off to work. The Roads weren't like they are these days either, not near so many Motorways as there are nowadays. They did it for their Sport.
  10. EXACTLY!! - but - when will Promoters realise this. Does the 'Gospel' according to St. Ole actually HAVE to be stuck to so rigidly?
  11. You can have a smashing evening in with the Piano and Oboe Deano. :D
  12. Sadly, at the Price, you do have a point - especially in these times of financial hardship.
  13. I find Virgin and their Customer Service excellent. SKY was OK until it snowed outside, then all I could see was ............................................... SNOW on the Television.
  14. Yes - I'm quite surprised that nobody has signed Claus over here. I am sure he could have done a job for someone.
  15. I know I don't like the GP System - but - I'm glad it is going to be shown live in the UK. I am looking forward to it. :approve: .............. aren't I a hypocrite.
  16. Good idea - but - it will never work. Too many vested interests would be prepared to bung plain brown envelopes in to people's hands.
  17. I know nothing about this Card Game and I am not a Gamer (?). This Game would be of NO interest to me. That said, there are those who DO like this sort of thing and that is up to them. :approve: It really would be a very sad thing if we ALL liked and disliked the same things - wouldn't it? Live and let live I say.
