  1. I remember John Jackson from his Crewe 'Kings' days. A superb Rider, I always enjoyed watching him.
  2. Edited by Boobs worries me a little. On a serious Note - I hope it is a great night of Speedway and the Promoters make a packet - it's no more than they deserve. :)
  3. If you are quoting from one of Ernie Wise's Play - you could at least give him the Credit.
  4. ........... and most importantly - the Presentations.
  5. We all moan about the demise of TeamGB (horrid name) but these days it is difficult to blame the Team Manager. A Team Manager is only as good as the Riders he can put out on the Track and currently we don't have enough of these for our International Team to shine. Sorry - not the Manager's fault (Middlo) - lack of real talent is the problem.
  6. Len Silver was always great entertainment back in the Seventies. When he opened Sunderland Speedway back in 1971 he always came on the Centre Green at Boldon with his Microphone and announced "Good afternoon everyone and welcome to 'SANNY SANDERLAND' - - even when it was pouring with rain.
  7. A very good point that - so good in fact that it was obviously worthy of repeating.
  8. MOST appropriate if you ask me. Very best of luck with this venture. :approve:
  9. I know - you are right. I took exception to the wording, that is all.
  10. Is that not classed as abusing Forum Members???
  11. I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference - Speedway Star is a WEEKLY Publication. Inside Speedway is a QUARTERLY Magazine. If you want to keep up to date with what is happening in the Speedway World then you buy Speedway Star. If you just want a general read about Speedway once in a while - then Inside Speedway is for you.
  12. I, a confirmed ante GP man - thoroughly enjoyed Eurosports coverage last night. Well done to them. :approve:
  13. I'm afraid not gustix - I'm afraid I'll be long dead before Sunderland would be even considered. Thank you for your Post though. :)
  14. Sadly Sunderland is not mentioned on your List. It never is on anyone's List. Sadly I think Sunderland is a forgotten City as far as Speedway is concerned. Very best wishes to all at Ellesmere Port - I sincerely hope that the Sport can be revived there.
  15. At a guess - because they need the Centre Green for Hockey etc.
  16. Wrong!!! Glyn ALWAYS produced good Tracks, and that is what we are talking about here. Problem is, of course, if bad Tracks are produced regularly then folk will stop coming. That must be a concern to you - especially as one of your Riders is complaining about it to the point he is allegedly requesting the sack. See above.
  17. I think this sort of thing bodes well for the future of Speedway coverage by SKY. I just hope that a new Contract can be sorted out at the end of the current one.
