  1. Not at all - it is sensible. We NEED British Speedway to get back to the top of the pile - we will not do this by giving facilities to Foreign Riders, in some cases (not all) not as good the British Riders who are being forced out. For some reason Promoters seem to think 'Foreign is BEST'. I have news for them sometimes they are right - but - more often they are WRONG.
  2. They will move up knowing that they have done their Training in the National League to Race against Speedway Riders from foreign Lands who have done their Training in THEIR homeland and not on our Tracks. Apart from anything else, that would give them a positive advantage. Why should WE be training Foreigners to ultimately take Team places from British lads - it doesn't make sense. British Tracks training Foreigners to beat us out of sight doesn't help British Speedway either.
  3. I wish the 'Mail' could come back (in the Newspaper form). What a happy time that was. THREE Speedway periodicals to pick from, all were quality productions - how lucky we were in those days. Sadly, things change, and not always for the better. On the plus side, we now have 'BackTrack' and 'Classic' Speedway which is a big consolation. :approve:
  4. I am still hoping to go to Newcastle on Sunday for the Practice. Just have to wait and see - - I suppose.
  5. Sorry HT - I can't agree. There are already far to many Foreign Riders here already. The National League should be for British Riders only. In my opinion that is the only way we will develop as a Speedway Nation. Part of the reason for our current slide in to obscurity is due to us employing Foreigners in place of British talent. How disheartening must it be when some of these Foreigners are brought in by British Clubs and they are no better, and in some cases worse, than the British Riders who are struggling to find a Team place.
  6. Well done that man!!! I hope that you enjoy Virgin - I know I do. .
  7. Go on then - sorry for going ON Topic. http://suziperry.com/index.php/gallery/
  8. There would have been only one winner in that Contest - and it wouldn't be Chris Harris.
  9. Where's Suzy Perry? The question I would like to ask is - WHY do Speedway Meetings have to be kept close 'to maintain interest'. That is rubbish - we are talking about SPORT here. You either win or you lose - you do NOT con the Public by contriving Results. When Man. Utd. are 6-0 up against Sunderland shortly - I can't see Sir Alex Ferguson taking it too well if the F./A. says the next two Goals Sunderland score will count double. It's b****y RIDICULOUS!!
  10. I think that what Parsloes says on this particular point is spot on!! .....................and I do wish you hadn't mentioned the word 'Qualification' BW. It set me thinking (again).............................................................................................
  11. Hope you've got your THERMAL Vest and Trousers on. I will for Practice Day at Newcastle on Sunday. I will also have my Blanket, Deckchair, Flask and Sandwiches - in case anyone was wondering.
  12. I loved the 'Mail'. It had a character all of it's own. I used to get the 'Star', 'Express' and 'Mail' I enjoyed the other two very much - but - I LOVED the 'Mail'. :approve: I actually preferred the tabloid style too.
  13. Yes my friend - we have. :) I just like to be part of the action - that's all oldace.
  14. Well I actually agree with sidney on the bit you highlighted.
  15. We have to be patient. I expect one or two mistakes to occur early in the Season as Eurosport get used to a different style of Motorcycle Racing. Very best of luck to them though - and I think that Thanks are due to them for picking up our wonderful Sport that is SPEEDWAY.
  16. Sorry to hear about this Arson. May he Rest in Peace +
  17. I must admit - I am looking forward to seeing how Eurosport handle the GPs. :approve: Roll on Saturday.
  18. Sad news this - I really rated Ryan as a class act. Best wishes to him for the future and I hope he isn't lost to Speedway altogether.
