  1. Who was that then? Genuine question - my memory you know.
  2. Sunderland - Graeme Smith,Bruce Forrester, Dave Baugh and Doug Wyer. OR: Jack Millen, Frank Auffret, Tony Childs and Alan Knapkin.
  3. Personally I thought Tony Davey was underrated at the time. I though he was a terrific Rider.
  4. Hey Tardis - can YOU not give him a lift in the------------------------------- ----------------------------------TARDIS?
  5. Crikey!!! - you seem a lot younger than that on here. :)
  6. I think you mean 'Incontinence Pads' Jacques.
  7. Problem with this is that some Promoters like to absolutely MAXIMISE Bar Takings. Tough luck on those who don't visit the Bar. We only stand around until the Promoter deigns to restart the Meeting. On a b****y cold evening - that can be VERY off putting.
  8. Very best wishes to Paul Starke on his berth at Berwick. Paul is a great trier and, in my opinion, could be a GREAT signing for the 'Bandits'. He did well for us at Newcastle last Season and deserves his chance. :approve: I certainly never saw Kennett coming - well done to the Promotion for taking this bold step to strengthen their Team.
  9. OH!!! SH**!!! You are joking - I hope. 'Diolch yn fawr'!!
  10. Agreed Dave. I honestly believe that Live League Speedway will be back next year - SKY are obviously trying these new innovations in order to improve their production.
  11. Much improved effort from Steve W. this evening. Thought he looked a lot better and you could see his confidence increase with every Ride. I hope we stick with him because I believe that once he fully regains his confidence he will be a GREAT asset to the Team. Nice touch by George to put him in Heat 15.
  12. Fair question..................................
  13. How many R/Rs can you have. One for Tully, one for Lindgren if we are not careful we will be watching an invisible Team.
  14. Thank you everyone - I thought it was just me. :) I was sure I had got it wrong.
  15. Help!! I have just checked my TV Listings for the Speedway and can't find any League Speedway this week. Am I missing something? PLEASE advise.
  16. WOW!! There would be some burnt out clutches if he did that.
  17. Well said sidney - too many folk forget that.
  18. They still should be - aye - those were the days. Red Coats, Pith Helmets sending a Column - It was GREAT to be British.
  19. ..............................as I say - at least they are trying.
  20. Having read all of the Posts following this one - I must say I am very disappointed at the tone of some of the Replies. At least the 'Monarchs' Promotion are trying to PROMOTE the Sport in their area. So what if it has been tried before and failed - it is possible the idea COULD succeed. I believe that the Edinburgh Promotion should be praised for, at least, trying to do something to encourage people through the Gate. People on this Forum, including me, criticise Promoters sometimes for not Promoting their business (for that is what it is) and yet when they do they get pilloried for it. If this idea works, at this time, with Computers which weren't available thirty years ago that is GREAT - if not - at least they have tried. WELL DONE EDINBURGH - I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS IS A SUCCESS. :approve:
  21. You can always watch the Tractor though............................................. Tractor fest - AND - 15 Heats of racing - seems like value for money to me.
