  1. ..............................as I say - at least they are trying.
  2. Having read all of the Posts following this one - I must say I am very disappointed at the tone of some of the Replies. At least the 'Monarchs' Promotion are trying to PROMOTE the Sport in their area. So what if it has been tried before and failed - it is possible the idea COULD succeed. I believe that the Edinburgh Promotion should be praised for, at least, trying to do something to encourage people through the Gate. People on this Forum, including me, criticise Promoters sometimes for not Promoting their business (for that is what it is) and yet when they do they get pilloried for it. If this idea works, at this time, with Computers which weren't available thirty years ago that is GREAT - if not - at least they have tried. WELL DONE EDINBURGH - I REALLY HOPE THAT THIS IS A SUCCESS. :approve:
  3. You can always watch the Tractor though............................................. Tractor fest - AND - 15 Heats of racing - seems like value for money to me.
  4. THAT should be the same at EVERY Track in EVERY League. Congratulations to Coventry on that at least. :approve:
  5. I always think the Premier League Meetings are good. I like the Elite League but, not wishing to get in to the which is better argument, I, personally, enjoy the Premier League racing more
  6. Very good question - but - how much would they cost?
  7. Thanks for that Dave. It really does need sorting out though. What toontrader says is perfectly valid as was evident on Sunday when lots of folk got wet. A bit of rain doesn't bother me (it only goes as far as the skin) but others don't feel the same way. They may well be put off in the future if rain is in the offing.
  8. EXACTLY!!! It appears, on checking the Steps that there are only a couple of places that could actually be construed as dangerous. Those bits ought to be blocked off - however - there appears to be absolutely NOTHING wrong with the rest of the Stand. H&S overkill as usual.
  9. You probably wouldn't have any Speedway at all to watch...........................................................
  10. I enjoyed the Meeting last night. Shame about the rain though. Right decision was made by the two Captains and Team Managers to call it off - we don't need to see anyone hurt and Heat 12 did look decidedly dicey. What a great pleasure it was too to see, once again, a Brave Band of Plymouth Supporters who had made their way up to watch the Meeting. I made some friends from Plymouth last year and it was GREAT to see them again. I am determined to make the effort to get down and visit them at the SBA. For me, this is what Speedway is about. Best wishes to Plymouth for the rest of the Season - they have a pretty decent side this year - pity Ben Barker wasn't still riding for them - that would change a decent side in to a formidable one. Thank you for your company Plymouth Supporters - we had some fun.
  11. What's the Weather like over at Brough please - it's been raining fairly heavily here in Sunderland.
  12. As long as it's not a Meerkat..................
  13. I would imagine they are quite happy with them.
  14. Yes but the 'Speedway Star' only gets the odd mention - they don't talk about it. Things like saying 'it was in the 'Speedway Star' this week is hardly advertising in the accepted sense is it?
  15. Could you enlarge on that a little please Blazeaway? I don't really understand the "jobs for the boys" reference. I'm not being awkward, I'm not trolling - I would just like to know how you arrive at that viewpoint.
  16. Yes - we must be patient with Steve. I am expecting great things from both Worrall Brothers in the future.
  17. I'm looking forward to Sunday. I hope the Weather stays Fine and that we can have a good Meeting with no Casualties on either Team.
  18. For Pete's sake what is the matter with you. Does it REALLY matter whether some like the Commentators or not? I happen to like them, I don't know them, and I am NOT licking anyone's backside. Commentators are like Whisky, it's a matter of TASTE. Clearly these two are not to your taste and that is fine. I would be prepared to bet that MORE folk like them than dislike them. You always have the option of your 'Volume' Button or your 'Off' Button. I would suggest that you use them. It just MIGHT help you - though - I doubt it.
  19. 'Sigh'!!! The fact that the Commentators are mentioning 'Speedway Star' is a plus for Speedway as well as a plus for 'Speedway Star'. Newcomers will learn that there is a Magazine out there where they can follow up on the GP and may find out that there is a Track local to them in their area. They may even consider popping along to watch a Meeting live and become regular Supporters. Can you not see that Blazeaway? I am all for advertising anything that raises the profile of our Sport - what is so wrong with that? As for 'Speedway Star' benefiting - so it should, it is after all, the ONLY Weekly Magazine around for our Sport.
