VERY well said vivabossman - that is it in a nutshell.
Whatever Glyn did or didn't do - he provided a GREAT Track for Riders to Race on. That fact alone should NOT be forgotten.
He ALWAYS did his best for Redcar Speedway. Sometimes things don't work out and, sadly, it didn't for Glyn - he made some mistakes - BUT - don't we all?
You can only Race on the Track that is there. If Ludo had the ability to keep someone behind him for all of the Race - that in itself is a skill. :approve:
Entry of the Gladiators at Sunderland
and
Knock three times.
If I ever hear either of them on the wireless - I am transported, in my mind, back to Sunderland Speedway.
I thought it was only me - great to know others have the same experience.
Rubbish - Glyn Taylor did not TRY to shut down Redcar Speedway. OK he made some mistakes at Redcar - but crucially Glyn is still one of the BEST Trackmen around Speedway today.
Two wrongs don't make a right though Matt.
BSI will bleed Speedway dry - it is not in their perceived interest to consider the future of the Sport. As long as they can cream off the top Riders for their GPs - they are happy. As soon as the standards of the top Riders coming through drop - they will be off into the sunset with a bag full of Cash leaving Speedway to sort the mess out afterwards. Mark my words.
Now if the put some money in to a Development Programme for Speedway Riders that might be different - but - THEY DON'T!!!
Never - and before you criticise me too much - I doubt if I ever will - the whole place seems to be populated with whingers and moaners if you and one or two more on here are anything to go by.
IT PUTS ME OFF!!!
Me too - I had forgotten about that. (gosh - my memory is rubbish).
Bit difficult in Midsummer (not the Murders, before anyone comments ). They would have to start the Meetings at 2100hrs.
