  1. You are right orion. However it changes my b****y temper very time it comes out - for whatever Team. It certainly spoils my enjoyment of a Meeting and despite what others say on here - it really DOES effect newcomers attitude to Speedway. Mickey Mouse.
  2. Probably. Seriously - I don't know - good question though.
  3. Oh dear HT - you were doing so well until wrote THAT!!! "Keeps more Meetings alive" in a CONTRIVED way you mean. (If you don't like the word CONTRIVED you could substitute FIDDLED, CONNED, ROBBED OR CHEATED the Supporters of one Club or the other in the Meeting).
  4. Entrance to this Event is Ticket Only - there will be no Pay at the Door facility. We have to be sure of Numbers beforehand.
  5. Well said Spin King. I hope the Promoters take the advice from your last sentence........................................
  6. You know my views on this BW. I don't want ANY Tactical Double Rides or Tactical Substitutes at all. I want ALL Races to proceed as per Programme (obviously Rider Order may be changed because of injury) and if a Team is in for a hammering - it will get one. I don't want to see undeserving Teams winning due to any Tactical contrivances that should not be what our Sport is about. Four Riders, 13/15 Heats, Scores added up at the end of the Meeting and the Team with the most Points is the Winner. WHAT IS SO VERY WRONG WITH THAT?
  7. THAT is an opinion - NOT a provable fact BW. My opinion differs from yours. Whilst not being totally responsible for Speedway's downfall in popularity - there is NO WAY that you can argue that this Double Points rubbish has helped the situation.
  8. Well - we'll see. Personally I think that both Barker and Bridger flatter to deceive. I truly hope I am wrong - but I don't think I am.
  9. A very one sided Meeting that Newcastle fully deserved to win - and they did. That's all there is to say really. As a Contest - it was just about all over by the time I arrived at the Track. In time for the start of Heat 5.
  10. The venue is a lovely Hotel in South Shields called the 'Little Haven'. They have done a superb job for us over a number of years now and our Guests seem VERY happy with it. With Sea Views and River Views this Hotel is EXCELLENT. Hope that this helps. Thank you for mentioning it.
  11. Ooops - I forgot about Tai in my Post. He is half Australian though.
  12. Looking forward to a good Meeting today. A Newcastle Win by about 10 Points. Hopefully all fourteen Riders will stay safe. :)
  13. THAT is the problem that I am trying to highlight - I don't know. Therein lies the problem. You don't want to put the young lads in - they could be badly effected by a hammering, however, at present the is NO ONE ELSE!! Nicholls, Harris, Cooke and Kennett are probably the BEST Team that Middlo can put out at present. He is severely limited by a lack of TALENT. That is until Richie Worrall and others of his ilk come through and earn their spurs...........
  14. Bridger and Barker I no longer regard as prospects for our International Team - both try hard - but crucially - are NOT good enough.
  15. "The Past is a Foreign Country; They do things differently there". (L.P. Hartley).
  16. A truly SAD Post by moxey63. The thing is that I can see where he is coming from. As for "taking parts of what served it (our Sport) so well throughout History" - I would say Four Riders hurtling around a Track is a very good starting point. Re-invent and simplify Speedway back to the basics and you won't go far wrong. DO NOTHING AND WE ARE FINISHED!!!
  17. The problem is - who else have we got. Without blooding youngsters with no experience of International competition - who else can Middlo pick? SUCH IS THE STATE OF BRITISH SPEEDWAY AT PRESENT!!
  18. A fair call Dave. I don't know what has prompted this alarming loss of Form but he needs to get back on track (no pun intended) and quickly. (no pun intended there either).
  19. If anyone is interested - we can assure of a warm North East welcome. A number of Riders have already agreed to attend.
  20. In my opinion both Hancock and Gollob have been great servants of the GPs. They are STILL competitive, and surely that is the main criteria. I think BOTH of them could have at least one more GP win left in the tank. I certainly hope they do anyway - they are still great to watch. The Sport of Speedway will be a lesser Sport when they do eventually retire.
  21. Oh damn - I've smashed my Monitor - I thought there was a BIG spider on my Screen.
