  1. If you are right orion - then we are, as you say, knackered. I do not believe for one minute that Speedway will be on SKY next Season. You may therefore be proved right. On the other hand Speedway could look to revitalise itself and find ways to attract in new Punters. It depends which way the Management of the Sport want to go.
  2. Even £2 or £3 would help. If you come along as a Family of say four - then £8 to £12 saved straight away. It would probably encourage more people to attend too. A no brainer for me.
  3. If SKY is so good for Speedway - how come that Track Attendances are not bursting at the seams.
  4. It no doubt will NOT surprise you that I am 68 years old. Now you will tell me I need to move with the times I suppose. Well I have watched Speedway for nearly 50 years (next year). I know what I watched then - and - I know what I watch now. For all the so-called progress in Bikes, Rules/Regulations, Riders etc. the Sport is not a patch on Speedway as I used to view it. Just my opinion of course - BUT - a hell of a lot of people feel the same. Have you looked at crowd levels lately.
  5. THAT is an opinion - NOT a fact. I don't agree with you - the Sport has changed out of all recognition since the advent of SKY - and NOT for the better in my humble opinion.
  6. As I said orion - get rid of the expensive Foreign Riders and then the Price of watching Speedway would HAVE to come down accordingly.
  7. You will find out when SKY no longer cover Speedway. Perhaps THAT will get people off their combined backsides and go out, pay their money and watch some Speedway in the outdoors. Actually - THAT is the best way to watch it anyway.
  8. Yes - but the British Leagues are so full of Foreigners that those BRITISH Premier League Riders do NOT get a chance in the Elite League to show what they can do. That is really my point. A Premier League Rider (British) would develop far quicker riding in a higher League. Only a limited number can do that these days because of the Foreigners. This argument may be academic IF there is only one League next Season.
  9. Fair comment. I wouldn't want to pinch another Teams Rider. I just thought that he really looks the business after last night's display. :approve:
  10. I thought Paul Starke rode very well for Berwick last night. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a 'Diamonds' Kevlar next Season.
  11. It wasn't me who had the FIVE Pies. If I ever meet View from the 3rd bend - I would seriously like to shake his/her hand though. I don't think I could manage more than the TWO.
  12. British Speedway is living beyond it's means. We simply CANNOT afford all of the Foreign Imports in the Elite League, some of which are no better than Premier League standard Second Strings. Time to get REAL Folks.
  13. However - IF there were to be only ONE League next Season - who would Richie Worrall ride for then - the 'Diamonds' or the 'Aces'? I can't lose - I support BOTH Teams.
  14. Nothing but nothing compares to the Anderson's PIES at Berwick. They are to die for. :approve: I'm glad I don't live up there - I'd weigh a Ton. :)
  15. I take it as read that he WILL be back next year. I really rate him. It's just that I don't want Robbo to be forgotten about either.
  16. The Meeting last night was over as a true contest by the end of Heat 4. I was disappointed with Berwick's performance which I expected to be better. On the plus side - it was nice to meet up with screm again.
  17. To some people Referees are always Mr. Magoo.  That's not to say that they never get it wrong though.
  18. Whilst I agree with a lot of your Post - personally I would love to see Robbo back next Season. :approve:
  19. I have said this before - ANYONE who sticks their leg over a Speedway Bike and rides it has my utmost admiration. I think (hope) that the term 'wobbler' is an affectionate rather than an insulting one to indicate a complete novice. As has been said - EVERYONE has to start somewhere.
  20. .............are you SURE that there will be an Elite League next year?
  21. YOU may well be right - BUT - it still does not make the arbitrary gifting of a place MORALLY RIGHT - or - for that matter FAIR. I know that I do go on about this - but - it really does bug me. Sorry.
