Cracking Post!!! :approve: :approve: The 'Play Offs' certainly make any achievements a Team make during a Season irrelevant. I've had a GREAT idea - let's CANCEL the League Meetings and just have a 'Play Off' Competition. The League System, at present, is only a 'Play Off' Qualifying Round. The League, in reality, is unnecessary because you get nothing for Winning it. Ergo, how can you be called League Champions when you patently obviously aren't? There is an old adage that says "the League Tables NEVER Lie" - they DO in Speedway, and, to be fair in certain other Sports as well. The LOGIC of it seems PERFECTLY CLEAR to me - I'm surprised that some folk cannot see it. You will NOT be surprised at me saying this HT. Sorry.

That's not necessary - I just don't agree with you. BUT - even if you are correct - it doesn't make it RIGHT does it? (Morally or otherwise). You and I will NEVER agree on this Oldace. I wouldn't like to fall out with you over this - I will continue to have my point of view as do you - and I respect that.

Not really. Sunderland ran for a while on a Sunday afternoon at 1500hrs and we had arguably our best Crowds in those days.

NO - I'm sorry it doesn't. Sport is about COMPETITION - NOT about working out better by fiddling someone in who shouldn't be there and excluding someone who should. To Niamh who said "what about Woffinden" - it makes no difference at all - if he didn't QUALIFY - then he shouldn't be in the Race for what is after all the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP of our Sport. If you want to GIFT people places (choose the Cast) - then call it a SHOW - but - you CANNOT call it SPORT!!!

I'm almost certain that there would be more of the top Riders riding in the UK were it not for the GPs. More British Tracks could Race on a Friday/Saturday Night were there no GPs. It's late, Ive just come in and I am knackered. But these are TWO ways I think British Speedway would be different nowadays. That's just off the top of my head. Oh!! ...................... and more Riders would QUALIFY for the World Championship in whatever form it took as places would not be given out/gifted like they are at present by BSI. Now there are THREE ways - I nearly forgot that one. There will be more but I am unable to think straight at present. (TIRED - NOT Drunk). I may add to this List tomorrow if I can remember. Problem is - I don't know them to speak to in order that I might canvass their views.

That question is impossible to answer - as I suspect you know. I do not know how every British Rider in the Premier/National Leagues feel about moving up a Division, and I reckon you don't either Matt. (no offense meant).
