  1. Only ONE thing is causing a heck of a lot of these Crashes - 'Lay Down' Engines. I've always said this and now, no lesser person than Barry Briggs agrees with me. He reckons that they make the Bikes harder to control.
  2. So you would have a Speedway Show. There is no way that you could call what you are proposing - SPORT!! What a JOKE!!!!
  3. OH!! CRUMBS!!! Oh!! CRIKEY!!! Very fair question. Looking at the above Posts - why do I have that sinking feeling. LIFEBELT ANYBODY?
  4. That's a cop out Niamh - and I think that you know it.
  5. Certainly hope so. .......................... at Newcastle. :approve:
  6. Yes - right. Hang tha Sport - go for the MONEY. People drifting away from Speedway in droves, a lot because of credibility problems. So yes let's make money from the Play Offs and s*d the Sport for the rest of the year. Unless, of course, EVERY Team from National, Premier and Elite Leagues gets a cut of the 'Play Off' money. None of this though, invalidates the argument that the Play Off System is UNFAIR and IMMORAL. It does not matter from which angle that you look at it - THAT is a FACT!!!
  7. BOTH are on 7.39 according to an earlier Post on this Thread.
  8. I DO watch them every week ThePinstripe. I am prepared to accept that maybe, in the future Lindgren MAY be a better Rider than Tully. At present he isn't as is proved by the Averages, he is the same. The BIG plus for Newcastle and for Tully is that, as I have said before, Tully is a damned good Team Rider. It may be/is a dying art in Speedway but I still like to watch it. Done well it really adds to the Meeting for me. Tully does it well - and long may he continue to do so.
  9. No but the fact that Andrew Tully is GOOD at it and can do it well, on the same Average as a Rider who doesn't, surely makes him worth that little bit more.
  10. No Premier League Teams I know of have ridden with only THREE of their OWN Riders. That IS uniquely an Elite League problem.
  11. I don't think Niamh is able to answer the questions Ghostwalker.
  12. But at least qualifying is an even playing field. PICKS, GIFTS, SPONSOR'S INFLUENCE, FAVOURITISM, NATIONALITY TO BRING IN PUNTERS AT THE GATE, HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH SPORT. Of course when people like those you mention qualify - you can always get upsets. Once in a while the unexpected happens and someone different wins a GP. To use Football parlance - a Giant Killing Act. This ADDS interest to the Sport and reduces the amount of seeing the same old Riders at EVERY GP EVERY YEAR.
  13. ........................ and for his TEAM RIDING abilities. (how many times).
  14. Just because the Elite League is totally b*llsed up - DON'T start dictating to the Premier League when, where and how THEY ride their Speedway. I suggest you look at putting your Elite League house in order and leave the other Leagues alone. Perhaps, though, the Elite League is beyond help.
  15. But you still haven't answered the questions Niamh: i) Why have Qualifiers? and ii) How do you decide who are the best in the World?
  16. Well why the heck have QUALIFYING Rounds Niamh - if you are just going to PICK the 'best in the World'. I really can't understand why you don't seem to get it - we are talking about a SPORT - you know COMPETITION. Ian
