I agree with the sentiment here - but crucially - the problem is that Speedway is in such a state now, that boycotting a Meeting could ultimately end up with said Track closing down. Nobody wants that.

I do hope it doesn't rain. That's the problem with attempting to squeeze so many Meetings in at the end of the Season. Especially after the number of blank weekends during the Summer.

I will not be there. Monday Night is bad for me. Newcastle's normal day is a Sunday which suits me fine. To be totally honest, I would not have gone anyway as I have made, what I consider to be, a principled stand of not returning to Speedway until Double Points is gone. Then the Promoters should ask themselves - WHY?

EDIT: I maintain my interest in the Sport purely in the hope the day will come that Double Points is scrapped.

More Tracks than Wimbledon had a 'Track Spare' ond - Norwich had a very famous one which the great Ove Fundin used to ride.

George Barclay used to run a Training School at Rye House until, I think a couple of years ago. He is now retired.

I don't want any more Tracks to close. You are correct when you say things need to change. It is how that change is managed that is important. Forcing Clubs to change their Meeting days could and probably will result in Track closures. You say "tough" for some Tracks. I sincerely hope one of them isn't yours. I'm sorry I just don't get how saving Speedway equates with Track closures.
