PRECISELY!!! That revenue stream has dried up good and proper now, with the SGP System. If SKY money goes down the drain too - we will find out who has been over ambitious with their spending over the years. Sadly - I think the majority of Clubs to be in difficulty will be those in the Elite League. (I am NOT having a go at the Elite League - I am just stating a fact).

Felt very sorry for the Ipswich Supporters tonight. I was looking forward to a good Meeting and moaning as usual that Ippo had two Double Points Rides to make the Thirteen Point recovery very difficult for us and then both Lanham and then Barker (who is excellent around the Brough Park Track) were lost through unfortunate injuries. The Ipswich Team were then effectively down to four Riders as they were already using R/R because of injury to Tungate at Workington. The remaining Riders tried their best to compete but in one Race could only Track one Rider. I am really glad that we won the Cup but the Meeting totally lost it's edge after the injuries. Newcastle though could only ride their best against whoever was put out against them and they did so with great efficiency. To sum up - GREAT to pick up some Silverware - sad that it came about in the way it did. (Not Newcastle's fault though - no Newcastle Riders were involved in the accidents). I would like to wish a speedy recovery to both Leigh Lanham and Ben Barker.

Well said Sir. THAT should shut them up. -
The Elite League NEEDS the Premier League to survive. You can't say that the Premier League needs the Elite League to survive - if it did - it would be dead!!!

Newcastle Diamonds 2014

I would agree that Tully can have the odd off night - but - Lindgren is far more inconsistent than Tully - plus Tully can Team Ride. That is something It seems Lindgren hasn't heard about. If he has - he doesn't think it applies to him. -
That is ONLY for Elite League Teams isn't it? Negotiations with SKY seem to concentrate on the Elite League at the expense of all others. This is despite the fact that MOST Premier League Meetings that have been shown were terrific Entertainment - unlike some Elite League Meetings.

I don't want Andrew Tully to leave - but - to my mind Lindgren is far too inconsistant - sometimes in one Meeting - never mind over a Season. I think we could probably do better than him next Season. -

What - no Robbo. How is that for loyalty?? -
Well having just read this Thread I would like to add my congratulations to Redcar and it would be great if they went on and won the whole thing. I don't know what happened to Andrew Tully recently one of our better Riders. I have come to expect this sort of performance from Ludvig Lindgren - I'm not terribly impressed with him to be honest. I have expected more from him all Season.
