  1. Planned - or - Fixed. This arrangement could cost some Team the League Championship. .................................... OH!!! That's OK then - a bit like the 'Play Offs'.
  2. Yes - I have noticed that. As a Sunderland Speedway Supporter who has no Team to Support in my local City (and have not had for FORTY years) - I find it sad that a few folk are moaning about having their Speedway albeit at a different level. I would settle for National League Speedway in my City as long as we had Speedway. SOME FOLK DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY ARE WELL OFF!!
  3. I wish I could Dave. Sadly my hands are useless these days. I do appreciate all of the work that you all put in though. :approve:
  4. Any chance of signing him up for the Season? :approve:
  5. The Grand Prix Series did NOTHING at all to help British Speedway. The 'one off' World Final (at Wembley) did at least put some money in to Speedway's coffers. I do believe though that Speedway's decline had started long before the Grand Prix Series. The Grand Prix Series has, to my mind, hastened that decline.
  6. I thought THAT stupid idea had been dropped.
  7. Well - you got ONE word RIGHT in your Signature anyway........................................................
  8. Far be it from me to attempt to lecture anyone. :) I am not a Lecturer.
  9. We ought to - he is a very experienced Manager. I wish him all the luck in the World. With the material he has available to him at present - he will need it.
  10. Might do OK as a second string against NATIONAL League Reserves.
  11. If it comes to a choice between Football and Speedway there is only one winner for me - Speedway. What's the point of watching England - you are only going to get upset when we lose - which at some stage we surely will. Support the 'Panthers' - that's far more important than Football.
  12. No I don't believe so sidney. From a peak in the Seventies the Sport entered a slow but sure decline. There were of course times when Seasons bucked the trend but by and large the decline in Speedway began in the Seventies. Prior to the Seventies too there had been hard times, especially when compared to the Crowds shortly after the War - I believe the formation of the Provincial League breathed new life in to an ailing Sport. Crowds increased to, as I say, a peak in the Seventies - there has been a slow and gradual decline in Speedway's fortunes ever since. It's all very sad really.
  13. No - the Engines can't be changed - or perhaps, eventually - they will have to be. Funny to think that once upon a time our Sport used to be called 'Dirt Track Racing' - you certainly can't call it that these days - there isn't any - DIRT!!!
  14. Thank you Ray. I don't know - why don't folk just listen to me.
  15. I do wish folk wouldn't be so negative. I have dealt with Councils myself. They will only move when THEY want to. No amount of cajoling does any good. To be fair to them, they have to ensure that everything is in place before passing anything and it all takes TIME. The Stadium WILL come in to being - I am CERTAIN of it. Patience!!!
  16. Pssst (whisper) - where did you get your information from?  I'll not tell anybody.
