BLOODY HELL!!!!
The Ex Riders pay to come to our Sunderland Speedway Reunion. They have to buy a Ticket the same as all of us - even the Organisers.
Some of them travel a heck of a long way as well. We really do appreciate them coming. A lot of them have done it for over ten years now.
Difference in generations looks like.
That idea, to me, has a lot to recommend it.
Everyone would then know exactly how they stood, including those important folk who don't seem to matter much in Speedway - the Supporters.
I have, and still wear a 1964 Sunderland 'Saints' Badge complete with 1964 Year Bar.
Sad really I suppose - but it helps keep the memories alive.
Just watched the Clip.
It is First Class - so many memories in there.
Very best wishes on your efforts Save Coventry Speedway.
I don't know what else to say really - but there is always hope.
I never do. I don't think there should be any Substitutions at all. Speedway is all about Results on the Track. Any, ANY Substitutions/Double Points is a mere contrivance of the Result.
So once they are established and they 'kick off' - refuse to employ them the following Season. Easy really.
But it won't happen because if a Team finds itself in trouble and needs a top Rider - we all know what will happen.
Don't we?
Surely a lot of this is speculation. If a Rider has a condition the renders him unable to ride, from time to time, then he should be covered by a Doctor's Note. If this is so - then there is no argument.
Unsure whether the Ban he received is justified or not, especially in view of other culprits.
