  1. He WOULD have won in 1972 had he not been fetched off by Bernt Persson. - to say I was gutted at the time is an understatement.
  2. Great Thread this. I don't know either way - but - I really am enjoying the Discussion.
  3. A pity it is so far away - I would love to have gone.
  4. I wonder if anyone has read Cinderfellas by Dave Lanning and could advise me of what they thought of it please? Thanking you in anticipation. Ian.
  5. I must admit I quite liked the look of Robin Aspergren last time I saw him ride at Newcastle.
  6. No - I agree with you. I thought he was a very good Rider. Was talking to Ken Eyre at a Long Eaton Reunion last year. He is a really nice bloke who obviously loves Speedway.
  7. I liked Ken's style. He was a very tidy Rider.
  8. Surprised nobody has mention Ken Eyre.
  9. LATEST: St. Patrick rides for the 'Diamonds'. :P
  10. Judging by this - you are right.
  11. SIGH!!! Some of us are...................................................................
  12. He gets a mention here: http://wimbledon-speedway.com/riders.html
  13. Daft question. But to answer it - yes - unfortunately.
  14. I believe it will take time to restore our fortunes at International level. Roscoe must be given that time. I think Roscoe is capable of doing the job,, and doing it well - BUT - he will need the support of everybody - Fans - Promoters - Riders - everyone. What is needed is a combination of Training/Coaching and patience.
  15. Time we looked to our FRIENDS and not that misbegotten set of crooks in Europe.
  16. Because - if they don't - it is a VERY sad indictment of our Country.
  17. Well I think this is a positive start from Roscoe. I believe that he has tried to strike a balance between youth and experience - everyone starts with a clean sheet. Success won't come overnight - but giving some youngsters a chance cannot do any harm in my opinion. Good luck Roscoe - I really do hope you succeed in reviving 'Great Britain''s Speedway fortunes. We really have been in the doldrums for far too long.
