  1. I would like to add my thanks too. The Support of former Riders, not just Sunderland Riders has been phenomenal. The only sad thing is that since 1974 there has been no Sunderland Team to support. Happiness is 40-38. Ian Martin.
  2. This a superb Service Andrew - THANK YOU very much.
  3. Reading most of the Reviews - it looks pretty poor to me.
  4. Then perhaps Carling should.............................................
  5. I wonder if Stewart Goodall is any relation to John Goodall N.Z. who rode for Sunderland for half a Season in 1971. He had the makings of a really good Rider - but left Sunderland under something of a cloud.
  6. Oh no your not. Myself and Stuart Robson would be on your side too. :approve:
  7. No Doc you are wrong. People who come on here to deliberately have a go at other Posters are TROLLS in my book. Gustix isn't - he just has to put up with unpleasant invective from you most of the time. If you don't like what he Posts - stick him an ignore - and then the rest of us won't have to read all of your unpleasant comments. I enjoy your Posts most of the time - but this vendetta against Gustix is going too far. Thank you. Ian.
  8. Whilst Havvy was undoubtedly a very good Rider - you cannot bracket him with the likes of Craven, Collins and Lee etc.................
  9. Yes, they were important. You may scoff - but it made towards the ENTERTAINMENT. Perhaps that is a dirty word these days. Have you got Colour TV yet - it's GREAT - it has various Colours on it.
  10. NEVER - Miles to the Gallon is the only way for a Briton. We have got far too much foreign crap over here as it is - without changing everything for them. Apparently there are more French living in London, I believe, than live in some French Cities. THIS is GREAT BRITAIN - we need to remember that. :approve:
  11. But NOT that type of noise. Airhorns are an aberration. Why do you think we have these ridiculous Silencers on the Bike these days? It is in order to lessen the noise and make the Sport more acceptable to the General Public. I would love to go back to the days of open exhausts, but if we want to keep Tracks open we can't. Anything that increases the noise these days is a 'no no' in my opinion.
  12. Fair enough - but I don't intend to try to explain myself any further on this, I have done my best. I think MOST people will understand what I am getting at - whether they agree with me or not.
  13. Probably by 'old fogies' like Me. :approve: I strongly supported the 'Metric Martyr', Steve Thoburn in his campaign to keep Imperial Weights and Measures. I STILL shop for my Fruit in his Shop today. Sadly Steve Thoburn passed away a few years ago - the Shop, though, is still in the Family.
  14. I think you are being deliberately provocative. Any colour = Kevlar/Leathers. Team Identity = Race Jacket + Emblem. It is the Race Jackets that should be the same in my view. Get it!!!
  15. I can't prove my case - but - I do believe, in this case, I am right.
  16. But they all wear exactly the same Race Jackets (apart from the Number on the back) - THAT is my point - THAT is their TEAM identity. Different coloured Leathers/Kevlars would add some colour to proceedings.
  17. It doesn't make him wrong though......................................................................... does it?
  18. Fair comment. We will have to agree to differ on this matter. I would just add that IDENTITY is important to youngsters - it is part of what attracts them to a Team. Speedway Teams no longer has that Identity and, as I said in my previous Post - a small part of Speedway's drop in Attendances may be down to this. Just look at Team Colours in Football, Rugby etc. all of these have their Colours prominently displayed - so should Speedway.
  19. I thought he had been refused a Visa. Has something changed?
