  1. Doesn't Hall have a Contract? If so - Contracts work both ways. You can't just opt out of a Contract whenever you want - or can you? This IS Speedway after all.
  2. Because we don't go in for that sort of thing.
  3. There are none so blind as them that will not see.....................................................
  4. That sort of illustrates my point though - doesn't it. Everyone, including the Referee needs to know who the Goalkeeper is so he is dressed differently - for identification purposes. The fact that Speedway is a Team Sport does not mean that you don't need to identify individual Riders. Different Sports require different solutions. Speedway SHOULD have kept it's Racejackets AND it's TRADITIONS. It should also have sensible Rules/Regulations. If these new 'Suits' were so good, then why are lots more people not coming to see the spectacle. Lack of Individuality is ONE of the reasons, I suggest - they are all look the same.
  5. Damn!! - I've run out of 'Likes'. I DO 'Like' this one though. You hooked me good and proper the Abbott. Love it!!
  6. What's the point - the Riders don't even acknowledge you anyway. You might get the odd lifted hand with what seems like a big effort from one or two - but - by and large - nothing. I would add that I always clap when the Riders come out on Parade - but - I am thinking of stopping because I seem to be wasting my time. All I would like to see would be a wave and a smile to the Crowd in general. These days it doesn't often happen.
  7. Obviously you would have to use a different Colour for the bloody Tactical Ride. Green perhaps - they must have plenty of them left.
  8. No offense taken Hadriandog - you have your opinion to which you are entitled - I have mine. I don't agree with you - but - it would be a sad thing if we all thought the same about everything. No need for this Forum for a start. As long as you eventually admit I am 'right' - we will be OK. ;) Well said Crump99 - I remember the days that you could identify the Rider by style, sometimes Bike, sometimes their Leathers and occasionally by Helmet Cover (not often). You simply cannot relate to the Riders these day - both they and their Bikes look about the same. Surely there is room for individuality in our Sport - as you say, Crowds are dropping and Sponsors are leaving - so the changes to what we have now have hardly been a roaring success - have they? There used to be a thing called TRADITION in Speedway - just imagine the trouble there would be if Man. Utd. decided they would play in blue shirts for marketing purposes - there would be hell on (look at Cardiff). It's the same in Speedway - they have totally thrown out the idea of Supporters relating to Riders in order to introduce something that might look more professional but is essentially BORING. Speedway needs it's glamour and it's individuality to survive long term - I doubt it will happen though. It's a shame if that is the only way to identify the Rider - see above. Very good point. Today the Yellow Helmet cover and the White Helmet cover look much the same under Floodlights which hampers identification of Riders. I would be in favour of a return to the Yellow/Black cover for this reason.
  9. ..................................... and now you've done it again.
  10. First sensible thing YOU have Posted in AGES!!!!
  11. I don't think Newcastle need to replace anyone either. Very best of luck to 'Robbo' at Number One. :approve:
  12. Abuse is never a good thing However - being Human - we ALL lose our tempers from time to time and Post things we later regret. I myself have had occasion to apologise on this Forum on a number of occasions. It would be a shame if someone got in to trouble for stating something for which he/she might later apologise for. If someone picks up a Ban - the chance to apologise is gone. Just my thoughts.
  13. Speedway used to be a Sport - but - the way some of the Rules/Laws of the Sport are made up these days - it is becoming something akin to the WWE.
  14. I'm still on the Tablets eight years down the line but they work. I hope that Lewis can find something that works for him. Good luck Lewis.
  15. You purport to be a Plymouth 'Devils' Supporter. I maintain you are NOT!!! Supporting your Team is more than just watching it win week to week, or alternatively lose. It is about involvement. You don't go often enough to get involved. You make judgement on ONE Meeting only - that can hardly be a fair judgement can it? IF your Speedway Club were getting your (and others) money each week - they could try to improve things - if they don't - then it will be finished. Then it will be YOUR fault (not on your own obviously, but you and those like you) - you will not be able to blame anyone else. If the Speedway did close I imagine you being one of those who moans - we have NO Speedway. Well - the answer is in your own hands - USE IT OR LOSE IT. Do NOT complain about those who are doing their utmost to keep Speedway alive in Plymouth. They are a great bunch.
  16. I'm sorry - I think they look very anemic. I thought the Peterborough Racejackets were great though. :approve: Come on Newcastle - get back to your famous and traditional Black Racejacket with big 'White' Diamond - THAT is how Speedway Supporters remember Newcastle. It was far more impressive than the somewhat pathetic effort we wear at present.
  17. Is this what you call Supporting your Club? Well I'm sorry but it isn't mine. You support your Team through thick and thin - OK you are going through a thin time at the moment - THAT is when you Support is MOST needed. If many 'Devils' Supporters react like you - then there will probably be NO Speedway at the St. Boniface Arena next Season and that would be a tragedy. Every Track has a bad Season - you are NOT alone in that. At least you have Speedway in your City (at present) - I don't in mine - and haven't had for FORTY years. When I think of all those super Plymouth Supporters I have met at Newcastle over the last couple of years - you are letting them down as well as the Club.
  18. Certainly one of the best Tracks I have been to. The only one I can presently think of to beat it was Belle Vue, Hyde Road. Even then it is close.
  19. I thought HT ALWAYS wore his shorts. I was talking to him at Newcastle a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely bloody freezing. Couldn't help but notice that HT was still in his shorts. Hope this helps Lioness.
  20. Well done to BOTH Teams tonight. A thoroughly entertaining Meeting with all the thrills and spills of Speedway. I thought that Robson, Henry and Lindgren did well for Newcastle, Rose tried hard and deserved more Points for his efforts. Kerr needs to get his Bikes sorted out - he was very well positioned in at least three of his rides before the gremlins struck Rosen and Schramm did OK. We were beaten by the better Team tonight. A terrific Track gave us some tremendous Racing - thank you Peterborough for preparing it so well. I think that we will probably ride worse than we did tonight Away from Home and come away with a Point or Three - Peterborough too are a very good Team. Yet another GREAT advertisement for Premier League Speedway.
  21. Best wishes Lewis. I hope and pray that you have a speedy recovery.
  22. Damn - I was just about to Post that.
