  1. I am very saddened to hear of the passing of one of the true Legends of our Sport. The death of Malcolm Simmons saddens me because I feel I have lost a part of my Speedway life.. I can only say Rest in Peace + Super Simmo - and thank you for the memories.
  2. There doesn't seem to be any shale these days - so Dirt Deflectors are a waste of money anyway. There isn't any DIRT to deflect.
  3. I would like to apologise for my typo in Posting the incorrect Date. I must be more careful in future. Sorry.
  4. I am surprised that there has been no mention of this on the Forum. I was just informed that May 20 1976 Tommy Jansson, Wimbledon and Sweden, died in a track accident. His Anniversary was two days ago. R.I.P. + Tommy.
  5. I'm afraid I must give myself a WHOOOSH!! I don't understand it.
  6. Perhaps MP has a 'size' phobia.
  7. Might be all over by the time the Meeting starts. I hope so anyway.
  8. Matt Ford will have seen to that..................................................
  9. I think you are being a bit harsh on the bottom end Riders. Whilst they are not performing successfully at present, we are particularly unlucky with our Team formation at present. With Lewis Rose, to my mind, riding reasonably well as a Reserve, finding himself thrust in to the main body of the Team far too early because of circumstances, the injury to Chris Schramm, and the Lambert problem, the Team has been somewhat thrown in to an unfortunate situation. Add to this the National League three pointer who will take time to settle and the recipe for a few defeats is very obviously there. I would not criticise the Riders, they are doing their very best in a very difficult situation. George is aware of the situation and will, I am sure, endeavour to put things right. I certainly don't expect a win at Armadale - as long as the 'Lads' try hard and do their best - nobody can ask more than that. Let's hope for an injury free Meeting too - for both Teams.
  10. It was good the way he (Peter Brough) used to use his hand to cover his mouth. Most definitely a Radio asset.
  11. Wasn't it a broken rod in his engine or something that would have cost him about three shillings or something like that?
  12. I am SURE George will get it right. He has tried to give people what they wanted, me included, an out and out Number One - he has succeeded. The second part of the Plan went wrong - we have to accept that. However if anyone thinks that George is prepared to settle for this - you only had to look at his face last night to know different. It may be that we have to live with a Season that is not as successful as those previous - but - believe me things WILL be put right in the long term. Over the years George has been a great Manager for Newcastle - I, for one, have faith in him.
  13. I can't stop listening to this - GREAT DAYS!!!! :approve: I'm going to brush off my Red Coat and my Pith Helmet. ONCE WE WERE GREAT!!
  14. That must be the reason then............................ See what I did there. I'll get me coat.
  15. I have been saying that since Christmas - I've taken a bit of flack for it too. Still think I was right. I liked the look of Rosen and thought he had potential and Henry certainly didn't deserve to be dropped. Still it is done now and we will just have to see what materializes in the future. Let's face it - things can only improve on tonight's performance. Congratulations and well done to Redcar - the better Team on the night. Man of the Match for me was Carl Wilkinson - I hope some of the Redcar Supporters who slag him off will desist now. He rode really well tonight and was great to watch. Finally- nice to see that the Promotion did Barry Wallace proud - it must have been great for him to lead out the two Teams. :approve:
  16. Anyone know why he packed it in so early? I've often wondered...................................................
  17. I will be interested to read your Comments on here about Premier League Racing after the Meeting. I very much hope that you will enjoy it.
  18. If there was a real will - it could be done Ray. As there isn't - it won't.
