I hear what you are saying Deano - but - as one of those folk who are 'too old' - might I remind you that it is probably because of us, that there is any Speedway to watch in this Country at all. Just a thought.

I thought it was a wonderful Programme. Tai has done wonders for Speedway.I thought he came across as a very dedicated, hard working, focused, brave, professional and caring young man. I was particularly impressed when he was at the Hospital with the little children. He seemed to be able to relate to them in a way that did not seem forced in any way, and they seemed to relate to him. He was very frank about not being great at School. I thought he was very honest right through the Programme. What a tremendous asset to Speedway Tai has become. I believe Speedway needs Tai Woffinden probably more than Tai needs Speedway. He came across as a young man who knows exactly where he is going, and knows how to get there. A person who I would be very proud to invite to any School Debate, Fair, Reunion anywhere - as a very good example of today's young people.

The real problem is that it is the Nicki Pedersens of this World that folk want to see. Personally I don't like some of his tactics or behaviour - but I guess, if you want to up your Crowds then you employ a Team of Pedersens. I know that the Crowd at Sunderland was usually pretty good when Jack Millen was in our Team. The problem with characters like these is that they give you what you want - excitement. The thing is that people Love to Hate a Villain and Nicki is definitely one of them.

I will amend my Post. You are of course right - BUT - I wasn't sure that anyone on here would understand that. Hope that helps. Edited: Post amended. As Gustix has already stated England were happy to use Highland Regiments in her many Wars. Many would say that the the British Empire was founded on the back of Regiments from Scotland and Wales. Please do not dismiss a wonderful Country in such a cavalier fashion. There have also been many beneficial inventions for mankind that are down to Scots (Penicillin to name one). Literature too would be the worse were it not for Scottish works (Sir Walter Scott, Rabbie Burns). Perhaps gratitude to a Nation that has supported England 100% since the 'Union of Crowns' would not go amiss...........
