I'm pleased to hear it. I still didn't think it was funny though. -
Belle Vue National Stadium
The White Knight replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
But I thought this was a NATIONAL Stadium where all the big International Events would take place. I understood that it was to modelled on the old Hyde Road Track. That would have been terrific. Why has, so it seems, the Track been compromised? Surely it is FIRST AND FOREMOST a Speedway Venue and THEN a Rugby Pitch. What the hell has happened here? I'm not happy!!! -

It most certainly doesn't Dave - you are right. I don't pretend to have all the answers, I just think I have a few ideas that I believe would help. That apart - if I am wrong about anything at all - I can take that, provided it can be proved to me. Apart from that, me being RIGHT is not important at all - the future of Speedway should be important to us all - RIGHT or WRONG. Far more qualified people than me - you for example - think they have the answer - that is fair enough, it is your opinion. I merely offer my opinion. By the way - if me being RIGHT is a high priority - I'm not sure why I support Speedway. The question I have to ask myself is - am I RIGHT - in the head? :) -
Financial Accountability!
The White Knight replied to wilsonpaul198's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
An extremely sensible suggestion that. Something like Financial Fair Play in Football - but - done properly. -

Unfortunately we are the ones flying the flag at the moment. Things DO need to change - you are right. How would you suggest the Product could be improved - to encourage youngsters for example? The idea of Four Bikes around the Track cannot change - that IS the basic package. Any changes would have to be on the peripheral of the Sport itself. I have my own ideas that might help - but they are well known on this Forum. It doesn't say I am wrong though.... -
THAT is dreadful.

I remember when there were a hell of a lot of Supporters attending Speedway than there are now. That, in itself, must tell you something. However carry on convincing yourselves that Speedway these days is better than it ever has been. I just ask you - when you have no Speedway to Support - please remember the warnings of The White Knight. -

No I don't. Nothing is or was perfect - just a damned sight better than it is now. -
Keep thinking like that and you might have an Elite League of ONE!!! Now that would be very Elite - but - not much use. I only hope that no other Tracks from the Premier League are tempted to 'go up' to the Elite League as the same fate will probably beckon them. Sadly the venture in to the Elite League has turned out to be a disaster for Birmingham. I sincerely hope that we can welcome BOTH of these Tracks in to the Premier League next Season.- I really do hope a way can be found for Birmingham to do this.
