  1. Well done to the 'Diamonds' tonight. It looks like they were made to struggle for a while though. Maximums for both King and Kerr with strong support from Robbo and to a lesser extent Lindgren. A very satisfactory Result. I'm looking forward to next week - no Speedway for about THREE weeks - I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.
  2. 'Fraid so!! However we could go back to Saturday Night Racing. For those who want to watch the GPs (Circus) - they are only on Eurosport - so - why can't folks set up and record their GP. They can then go to their Club Meeting on a Saturday Night. Watch the GP when you get home, fast forward through the adverts and 'Bob's your Uncle - problem solved. Plus side of that - you don't have to watch the adverts - RESULT!!! Worth a thought anyway.
  3. Also Riders would lose form if not riding regularly. You could not expect a retained Rider after, say six weeks, coming in to the Team to replace an injured Rider and hitting top form straight away. I don't think the idea would work.
  4. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!
  5. Good job Robbo came back again this Season - he has still scored more Points than anyone else. At least we can agree on that. Well he does seem to score well against the weaker Riders. Except, of course, Away from Home.
  6. SUPERB!!!!! You can s*d off with that argument. The Premier League can, and will, I hope, Race on whatever Night suits them. Your Problem is an Elite League problem, let the Elite League solve it. It has b*gger all to do with the Premier League. Bloody arrogance. I only hope that no Team in the Premier League is daft enough to want to join the Elite League - look what's happened to Birmingham. They were doing OK in the Premier League, and then got duped in to taking an Elite League place chasing 'big bucks'. That went well didn't it.
  7. THAT is very much up to the Promoters. I just wonder how long we can carry various Riders, and yes - one in particular. We have a TEAM built on all round strength in depth. One of our Heat Leaders is NOT performing and that is having an obvious effect on Results. You can argue about Maximums at Home as much as you like - but the one against Plymouth was mostly against Reserves and Second Strings - I would EXPECT a Maximum from a Heat Leader in those circumstances - at Home.
  8. But some are badder than others. But is said Rider doing his JOB - Home and crucially Away? Answer: NO!!! ................. that's EASY!!!
  9. This is why I am so pessimistic about Speedway's future. To paraphrase: Honesty and Transparency is ALWAYS the best policy. Give people the pertinent FACTS and people may understand your position - failure to do so only fuels resentment, rumour and conspiracy theories.
  10. Decent shout that Steve. Though I will still stick with Peter Collins and Chris Morton.
  11. Well that's a relief. I was thinking - here we go again. Dreadful Result tonight. Very sad. At least Danny King seems to have ridden well. No comment about anybody else.
  12. Well I think Tai is SPOT ON!!! The current Elite League System is unsustainable, and eventually they (the Promoters) will realise that. Unless, of course, they are too late.
  13. I would very much object to that Philip. The Premier League is making it's own way very nicely thank you. Of course, in this economic climate of austerity some Premier League Teams are feeling the pinch - but crucially they are managing. If they can survive the Recession I honestly feel that brighter days will be ahead for the Premier League. The Elite League, however, is in a mess. Birmingham - Closed, Eastbourne - could (hopefully not) be about to go the same way. Other Clubs are not doing very well - the Product has become that watered down with Premier League and National League Riders that the League itself is just a pale shadow of what it used to be, hardly 'Elite'. I think the only way forward for the Elite League is a single night per week of Racing - One Home Meeting a fortnight and One Away Meeting per fortnight. THAT is the only way the League will survive and flourish. THAT way the World's leading Riders could return. I would much prefer that the Elite League Group stayed away from the Premier League - they would only ruin what is a very good, entertaining and competitive League. They certainly have a history of ruining things in their own League.
  14. I totally agree with that BBuck. Here's to next Season with Birmingham in the Premier League.
  15. I see it how it is Dave. Not how I would like it to be. I see Robbo Team Riding often - so I know what Team Riding is. Perhaps, as Steve says, he can't Team Ride but actually I don't believe that because I HAVE SEEN HIM DO IT!! But crucially - only when he wants to. That my friend, is my gripe.
  16. I genuinely hope that Lindgren gets a maximum tonight - and the same goes for every Meeting left in the Season. I would love to be proved wrong. On his day he is a brilliant Rider - but 'his day' doesn't happen anywhere near enough for someone with such talent. THAT is why I find him so frustrating. That and his lack of willingness to Team Ride as he rides off and leaves his Teammates to struggle.
  17. HaHa - actually, believe it or not, I wasn't thinking about it. However, I am now. Now look what you've done.
  18. Something similar - at look what happened to that.
  19. What have I said - I just said I would reserve judgement. I didn't criticise him. Reserve judgement means - 'wait and see'. I wasn't going to mention it until your Posts appeared - BUT - do you really think that FOUR points at Sheffield was a decent score for a Heat Leader? Personally - I don't. Anyway - let's see how he gets on tonight at Somerset.
  20. A Super Intelligent Dick is what you are oldace. You did ask.
