  1. As a casual reader of this Thread - I couldn't understand some of the Initials. Ah well!! My loss.
  2. EH!!!!! Very true - and I didn't like them then either. orion - I am doing my very best to understand your Posts. Do you mean: "doesn't hold much water. Only asking - but that is two in a row I have struggled with. In fact I am still not sure about the first one.
  3. Wow!! I should say so. Some really cracking Riders there.
  4. Thanks for the update on Matty screm. Here's hoping his pelvis heals quickly and as painlessly as possible.
  5. I would say that they probably are - but - then again I think that the Elite League only charge a Pound or two more, yet pay out, it seems to me large sums of money to certain Riders. That, to me, is what makes the Elite League unsustainable.Lower the Prices and you might attract one or two new Supporters but I can't see the Riders accepting a drop in Pay so, because of this, the League would be in even more trouble.
  6. Well - if you label yourself Elite I suppose it's inevitable. If you are the BEST then, in business terms, you have to charge more than the minnows. Whilst I'm not sure I agree with the Premier League Promoters - I can at least understand their point of view. Drop Elite League Prices to Premier League levels and some may be tempted away to watch the Elite League. The stance of the Premier League Promoters makes good business sense. I might not like it, but I accept it.
  7. Great News that Matty and Aaron are going to be OK. I really feared the worst. That was one of the worst accidents I have ever seen at Speedway.
  8. Then perhaps the Elite League Speedway is headed for the Premier League - to answer my own question. I bloody hope not though, to be serious for a moment. :o
  9. ................ and many don't want either the Double Points Rule or the Tactical Substitute Rule. Some of us would very much like to see the Result of the Meeting being decided on the Racing. THAT is what we go to see. If someone takes a hammering - tough - it happens. Fiddling/Contriving Results will always turn people off and your credibility is lost. Once that happens - Speedway will be left to the 'diehards' like me. But even I am getting very disillusioned and fed up. I no longer look forward to the Meetings as in former years. Difficult to argue with that. Many moan about watering down the Elite League and yet they accept National League Reserves. I know WHY they did that but, surely that in effect waters down the Elite League too. Have Prices dropped because of this? Genuine question, because I don't know. If folk are expected to pay the same or more for a watered down Product - then where is Speedway headed?
  10. These are brilliant. Thank you very much for Posting this. I will be following your updates with great interest.
  11. IF the top level Riders stay in the Elite League then the League will Price itself out of existence eventually. Riders are taking far too much from the 'pot' these days For me they deserve every penny they get - but - the Leagues - all Leagues orion, cannot afford to pay out what they have not got. Too many appear to be doing so at present - there is only one end to that sadly.
  12. Perhaps they could try Cinders. Only joking - but: It could be better than some of the slick Tracks we watch these days.
  13. Premier League for me!! (Surprise, surprise) Not trying to be contentious - BUT - if it were a choice between the Premier League and OUR Elite League it would be the Premier League every time for me too.
  14. Ergo - NO Play Offs. SIMPLES!!! It's a Joke. You could possibly do Play Offs if ALL Teams had completed their Fixtures - but - the way it works at present is farcical. The League is decided by Weather and a daft System. To quote someone else on this Forum: "Only in Speedway".
  15. Very, very sad News. He cannot have been that old? R.I.P. + Mike.
  16. Are they in such deep trouble because they are out of breath?
  17. You could be right - AND they would be called League Champions.
  18. It is a waste of time discussing things with you orion. Birmingham is only the start - believe you me. Anyway - time will tell. We shall see.............................................
  19. I don't have to come up with anything - it is all there for you to see if you just open your eyes. "There are none so blind as those who will not see" John Heywood - 1546
  20. And why would they? The Elite League is far too expensive to compete in. At least Promoters in the Premier League recognise their limits. As I have said earlier some Premier League Teams are struggling now - why the hell would they want to move up to a League that could bankrupt them. I know that some Elite League Supporters don't/won't accept this fact, nevertheless, it is true. Sadly, I believe that if something is not done soon, you may well be right. And as I have said many times orion - you are right - Speedway has problems at all levels. The trouble is that by far the BIGGEST problems are in the Elite League. This is something you seem to find difficult to accept.
