  1. Good Post. I hope that you will give the new Track a visit when it is completed Oldace.
  2. Err - no we don't. People are adding two and two together and making FIVE - that is all.
  3. Hyde Road - the very best place I have ever watched Speedway. :approve: If they model the new Track on the old Hyde Road Track, as they said they would - they won't go far wrong.
  4. .................. and they never will be unless given the chance.
  5. Here we go. What have you got against the North? Is it that as we are North of Watford Gap we don't matter. This WILL be the only Stadium in the Country that can be called a National Stadium as it will be the BEST purpose built Speedway Stadium in the Country. Until the South build one bigger/better - I would keep quiet about the North. Honestly.
  6. What can I say - for once I am stumped. I AM ABSOLUTELY BLOODY DELIGHTED!!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVE GORDON AND CHRIS MORTON!!!! Sorry for all the caps - but I am over the moon.
  7. I saw Jimmy Squibb riding at Sunderland for Eastbourne (I think - memory not that great) in the Seventies. I may be getting my years mixed up, but I believe Reg Trott was in the same Team. I could be wrong.
  8. What a bloody stupid statement that is. The Lad could ride, and because he is already injured, could fall and cause further damage to himself and also, possibly endanger others. .................................. OR don't you care?
  9. ........................... and if they are TOP at the end of the Season may not get to be League Champions either.
  10. Very best wishes to Chris. I enjoyed his efforts at Brough this year. Tried hard in every Race.
  11. But would it be worth it? Far better Blackbird waits until next Season when he has fully healed and is fully fit.
  12. You are right, however, I don't think I implied that it wasn't a Democracy - just outlined the Chairman's role.
  13. Yes - but - to be pedantic - it wasn't the Rider who caused the stoppage - it was the Advertisement. If it wasn't attached properly - you can hardly blame the Rider for that, and in this case it may/will have cost him money.
  14. Actually - I was talking about the 'Seventies' - but I take your point.
  15. Very bizarre - I've never, in fifty years of attending Speedway heard of anything like that before. Perhaps the Referee should have excluded whoever tied the Advertisement on in the first place. I can understand why he stopped the Race though - the only thing he could do for safety reasons - but - excluding the Rider seems ridiculous to me. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the Regulations may be able to explain this? Unless, of course, it come under the banner (see what I did there ) of, if a Race is stopped - then someone has to be excluded. If so, this is another example of some of the somewhat stupid rigidity of Speedways Rules.
