How about concrete - didn't I read somewhere that the Japanese had Speedway on concrete. Before I get a load of flak - I DON'T think it is a good idea. This would be around the time Jimmy Ogisu rode over here. I'm sure that gustix or somebody will be able to confirm or deny.

The Best World Champion Ever
The White Knight replied to customhouseregular's topic in Years Gone By
Whilst I think that over all I would put Ivan Mauger as the best. But during my deliberations, Peter Craven, Barry Briggs and Fred Williams all came a very close second. I just thought that with all his Speedway Titles, Long Track Titles and his all round professionalism Mauger, for me, was the ultimate Speedway Rider. I reiterate that my all time favourite Rider though was 'Briggo'. -

I feel that too. However - he has been out of the Sport for quite a long time now. Perhaps the FIM will think that his time served so far will teach him a statutory lesson - and that he will learn from it. He does not have a good record on 'learning a lesson' but perhaps the furore he has caused this time will serve as a wake up call. I, for one, hope so. -
Who are you? The 'Scunner' Campbell?

BW - once again you and I are not going to agree. I honestly believe your argument is coming from a Politically Correct standpoint. I hate Political Correctness in all of it's forms and will not have anything to do with it. You may not like that - that is your prerogative. I thought the Joke was funny - you didn't. That's your view, fair enough you are entitled to that. My view is different - and I am entitled to that too. Please do not presume to question my motives and imply that my views make me uneducated I would not insult you in that way and I am saddened and not a little surprised that you have done so. -

Well I would have thought it funny if he had put they were from Australia and said white people with six kids. You really are stretching things here BW. Mind you, it does appear that, at present, Australian Speedway Riders are having more trouble getting in to this Country than all of the Illegal Immigrants from other Countries - White or Black. -

Of course it is. It was an off hand joke by KeithM that was meant in fun that the do-gooders on here jumped on straight away. It just demonstrates that even the most harmless remarks can be picked up on, and turned in to something they are not. No the wonder there is so much trouble and prejudice - you get the feeling that some people just can't wait...................................................... -
Shale - that's a laugh!! It looks like mud these days.

Sense of humour transplant required. Well I'm sorry BW - I thought it was funny. I don't consider myself ill educated or Racist. I can laugh at Jokes about white (Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman) people too. This is where all this bloody Politically Correct rubbish causes trouble. -

Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?

Does that include the Heats that are of National League standard. I nearly forgot - and also the Double Uppers from the Premier League? National League Riders, Double Uppers - how many actual Elite League Riders only are there? Just asking. -
Bspa Meeting With Ukv&i?
The White Knight replied to SteveLyric2's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
You asked - and I have done on numerous occasions. BRITISH LEAGUE DIVISION ONE!!! It isn't rocket science and it describes the League perfectly whereas ELITE certainly does NOT!!! Obviously the Premier League (another misnomer) would become British League Division Two - which is exactly what it is. The National League would be British League Division Three (Development). Which is what it is supposed to be. orion - I know that the current Elite League has better Riders. I also doubt that any Premier League Team could beat an Elite League Team - there you are - I have said it in black and white. -
