Best Horticultural Team Ever
The White Knight replied to customhouseregular's topic in Years Gone By
How about Claude RYE? -
I remember when I bought my first Record. The Rock Island Line - Decca Records - Lonnie Donegan - 6/4d if I remember correctly. Lonnie produced most of his Records through Pye Nixa. Happy days - I have all of Lonnie's songs on CD now - it isn't the same though.

It's late - and I can't think. Who is MH? Sorry - I think I know who you are talking about. The light bulb has just come on inside my head.

Darcy Ward
The White Knight replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
To answer Yes or No is impossible - yes I would like to see the best Riders in the World including Mr. Ward - but - that has to be qualified. I do not want to see somebody there who is so irresponsible as to fail an Alcohol Test is Banned and then welcomed back in to the Speedway GP Community as if nothing had happened. He could have killed or injured somebody. Thankfully he was caught before he rode. I am not against Mr. Ward - I just think that he should serve his sentence without any favours being given. Unless you want to reward him for his irresponsible behaviour of course. -
I wouldn't dream of slating you. :nono: Bridger is a great Rider with a great talent, no doubt. But sadly he, along with one or two others seems to have a self destruct button which he presses rather too often.

Speedways credibility once more in danger. IF Ward gets to Cardiff. -
Perhaps had these people behaved themselves in a proper manner folk wouldn't be so keen to criticise. All of the three you mention can hardly be held up as a credit to Speedway - can they? Just an observation.

I'm sure there was a 'Farmer' used to ride for Long Eaton? -
I 'Liked' the Post for the Woolworths comment - as is reflected in my reply. Not that I should have to explain of course.

What Are You Looking Forward To This Season?
The White Knight replied to Robinh88's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
My personal hope is for as few injuries as possible. The injury situation has really taken a big toll on Teams over the last few Seasons. Clever that. :approve: -

I reckon Ward has got off extremely lightly in his length of Ban. As for financially - I don't know but I think he will have taken quite a big hit. I hope he learns from this dreadful experience and behaves himself from now on - at least his future is back in his own hands again. Can he reform - I certainly hope so. We can only wait and see, -
Well probably never know the full truth of this issue. At best what we have on here is speculation. Bridger isn't riding this year. Time to move on I think.

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
The White Knight replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If you want the opposition 'putting off' - look no further than Jack Millen. :D -
Woolies has closed in Sunderland. I'd prefer Records from the Fifties myself.

Us Riders (former Dream Team)
The White Knight replied to barncooseboy's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I wonder how they control who comes and - just as importantly - who goes. -
Me too.

The FIM will soon sort that out - when they open up a Can of Whupass!!! -
Another good idea. Let's hope that something is introduced to tighten up on Starting Procedures.

The White Knight replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
In reply to your question Tony - it would STILL be Peter Craven for me. He fulfills every one of your three criteria with interest. -
I was very pleased when I heard that Bridger was returning - I thought it was good for British Speedway. Having read some of the Posts on here - I am now not so sure....................

I believe that once Riders are lined up they should be under total control of both the Starting Marshal and the Referee. There should be a line, a couple of bike lengths from the Tapes, then once the Bikes are in that area the Riders must do as the Starting Marshal instructs immediately or they are given a ten yard penalty. It would only have to happen once or twice and the Riders would soon learn. Just a thought.

What The Visa Issues Could Mean For Teams.

I could be very contrite - if only someone would tell me something about norbold's Hole. On second thought - contrition isn't in my Dictionary. :nono: -

So are some of you saying that the new people who have come on the Forum have ruined it? Have we invaded your nice little clique? If so I apologise for my presence here. I thought this Forum was for all views to be aired - not just the 'comfortable' ones. There!!! That's thrown another log on the fire. :nono: I will stick around though.
