Bob Radford And Phil Crump

You have my sincerest sympathy MP2. I know how you will feel. -
I would like to pose some questions: With the amount of negativity to those who run Speedway in this Country, which is currently running at a very high level, and the necessity of having Promoters. How will they react to possible fall of Crowds and loss of revenue due to the Recession and even less disposable income for their Customers/Supporters? How will Speedway emerge from the Recession? The current Government are hell bent on pushing their Austerity Policies for another five years, if they get elected. With further 'Cuts' prophesied, what effect do you think this will have on our Sport? The current Austerity 'Cuts' appear to have had a very bad effect on Crowds over the last four years, with no improvement in the situation from Government - can things only get worse? Will people have less disposable income, or will the recovering Economy trigger an easing of the aforementioned 'Cuts'? If so, and if people feel better off - does anyone think that the Crowd levels will improve? Discuss.

Cancer took both my Wife and my Mother. Both were aged 61 oddly enough. -

Very best wishes to both. I hate Cancer. -
Indeed it was CHR. He was known as the 'White Ghost'.

First Rider I saw wearing Green on his leathers was Dave Gatenby at Sunderland.

He's already got one hasn't he? At least until June. :D -
I'm sure there was a Meeting actually called: The Daily Express Spring Classic. See below: https://www.speedwayfiction.co.uk/1975headlinesweapr19.html The bottom bit regarding Phil Crump. Looks like The Daily Express Spring Classic could be this particular Meeting. Not necessarily the one you attended - but it was an Annual Event.

It would be - as long as you weren't riding in it.

My Team. That sounds right. :approve: -
In my opinion - they still aren't. There has also been an increase in injuries since the advent of 'Lay Down' Engines too. The Tracks are basically the same size and shape that they were back in the 1920s. The Bikes nowadays are totally different, and compared to the Bikes in those days a lot faster. You don't expect a 'Typhoon' Fighter to take off from a grass field like SE5As, Sopwith Camels, Spitfires and Hurricanes did, do you? Yet that is precisely what you are asking these new Bikes to do on Tracks that have not changed in some cases for 90 years. It just doesn't make sense. To me, it is little wonder that there are not more serious accidents.

#na na nana na!!!!! :D -
Amazingly, 70 years after the Second World War was over, we still have Prefabs in Sunderland. I believe these houses were built with a planned life of ten years. These homes are still standing and their Residents have them looking really smart and well preserved. They are super little houses. I wonder if some of the Properties that are being built now will have a similar life span? We shall see.
