  1. Only if you are right that the Riders were to blame for the Meeting being stopped. I have read that to be the case on this Forum only. Nowhere else.
  2. The Track either was fit for action or it was not. Any supposed uproar should not come in to the Decision where Rider's lives are at stake.
  3. At the moment we actually seem to know very little. Is it yet proved that the Riders were responsible for the Meeting being called off? On the SGB Website it says the following and I quote: "Abandoned after Heat 12 (safety concerns) – Result stands". Nothing there about Riders refusing to ride.
  4. Things are moving forward. I receive an e-mail from Belle Vue with updates. I'm not going to go in to the Building Progress because I don't know a lot about Building Terms - but - rest assured - things are moving forward.
  5. What about those who may have wanted to continue to race? Or are you suggesting that 'Bomber' wanted the Meeting off? I would seriously doubt if he did - he was doing great. You should not penalise the innocent (I know I am assuming here) with the guilty. Not just me then - it cuts out the adverts as well.
  6. Haha!!! - That thought crossed my mind too Gemini. Thank you for posting this keepturningleft. :approve:
  7. Top six for me: Glasgow Edinburgh Somerset Ipswich Workington Newcastle (I hope)
  8. I remember Howe scoring an 18 Point Maximum at Brough a couple of years ago. He was terrific.
  9. The fact that no apology was given on the Night, to those who had travelled all that way and had probably spent a good deal of money, and also to the Poles themselves is nothing short of disgusting. It costs absolutely nothing to say - Sorry.
  10. I assume you meant to say 'his' responsibility? That is exactly what he would say though isn't it.
  11. I quite agree - it was a to shambles. Wasn't any better for those who had spent their hard earned money to attend either - they seem to have been kept in the dark as to what was happening with little or no communication. How much longer is this Company (BSI) to be allowed to bring Speedway in to disrepute? Speedway is quite capable of doing that on it's own without any help from BSI. Saturday was an absolute disaster for the Sport. There are folk on here saying they will not be going to Cardiff or other GPs. Why should they? I know I won't be going to Cardiff again and the way thing are going I will be damned if I am going to waste my time watching it on the Television either. I have never liked the GP System as many on here know - but I have watched them. The farce that developed on Saturday has, to an extent, put me off. If enough people are put off and actually do decide to stop watching - that will be the end of Television coverage. It may have ended already if Executives at Eurosport look too closely at what happened on Saturday. I am also pleased that the Riders made a stand. It is their lives at risk - nobody else's. SOLD!!!! OUT!!! Speedway for Thirty Pieces of Silver. Always read the small print. Yes - the Legal eagles probably are going through everything with a fine tooth comb. That will be to find reasons, excuses for those who are responsible. What they will most certainly NOT be doing, is anything to see how Supporters who paid their money to watch this disaster unfold could be compensated for their trouble. In fact they will be most probably trying to find ways of NOT paying any sort of Compensation at all. So I am NOT really surprised that they won't say anything - they need to get everything nicely 'stitched up' before doing so.
  12. Crumbs!!! By the Title of the Thread - I thought you meant 'Bam Bam' Bigelow. :D Remember him Bewitcher?
  13. I apologise Bryn and I am very pleased indeed that it was a successful Reunion.
  14. Without doubt - one of the BEST Posts I have ever read on this Forum. 100% correct in my opinion. An interesting Theory - but I doubt if even Speedway Management Team would stoop as low as that. ........................... but then again? There could be a certain truth in that. With any luck. Well I was out last night - Entertainment was rubbish. I got home at midnight and thought I would watch the GP as I thought it would be better entertainment than that served up by the Singer I had seen at my Club. How wrong could I be - I sat in front of my Television with ever increasing disbelief in what was happening before my very eyes. It absolutely beggared belief. That something like this has come to pass is nothing more than a disgrace to the Sport I have loved for over 50 years. I hate to say 'I told you so' but I have been slated on here many times for my criticism of BSI. Since their involvement, the Sport has become all about money and not the Riders or the Supporters which is why Supporters are drifting away from Speedway year on year. After this performance I really do believe that our Sport is in it's death throes. These Temporary Tracks MUST be discontinued - they too often - do not provide good Racing and are more about fleecing good Crowds of their hard earned money than about the actual Sport. If we are going to have a GP System then they must be in Stadia where there is a permanent Speedway Track - if we have to take a chance on the Weather - then so be it - Speedway has been competing with the Weather since 1928. Finally heads must roll following last night's debacle. Firstly we should be get rid of BSI - a blight on our Sport if ever there was one. Secondly, and sadly the Race Director and the Track Curator (not sadly) should go. Frankly Speedway cannot afford all of these 'cock ups'. The Sport is on the bottom as it is - something that disgraces our Sport on World Wide Television makes Speedway a laughing stock. I AM SO VERY SAD TODAY.
  15. I had to search for contact numbers using various means. It took me a very long time. I got help from other Riders and good folk within the Sport, to whom I will be forever grateful. Perhaps one of the Riders that you had already invited would have had Moggo's Telephone Number. That would have been a possible route for you. As I already said - I was unsuccessful with Alan Mackie. I am not trying to have a go here. Anyway - as I seem to be unintentionally causing trouble - I shall withdraw from this Thread. EDIT: I genuinely hope that you have a very successful Reunion.
