Sadly Humphrey you are 100% right.
It is nonetheless so sad that Speedway has sunk low in this Country, both Financially, and in it's Public standing.
I don't have any answers but I do mourn for the Sport I have loved since the early Sixties.
I saw some superb Pairs Meetings years ago. Peter Collins, Malcolm Simmons, Michael Lee and Dave Jessup to name just four of the many British Riders who graced the World Pairs Championship in past years.
So very, very sad.

I didn't realise the Sheepdog Trials could be classed as a Sport - I watch them both live and on the Television.
Well nigh impossible if your Speedway Track is in a Greyhound Stadium.
Think of the Rent if the Promoter does not own the Stadium.
