  1. That, of course depends on which side of the argument you are on BW.
  2. Surely you should respect your Sport and think very carefully before bringing it in to disrepute. Nobody is saying that Lee was not a brilliant Rider - he was. But if you asked me was he good for Speedway, I would probably have to say no. His undoubted brilliance, to me, was overshadowed by his actions that brought the Sport I loved in to disrepute. As for Bridger - he too has found ways of getting himself in to trouble too. Being a good, or in Lee's case a great Rider does not mean that you can do what you like regardless of the consequences, and it does not excuse those things either..
  3. Just thought there may be a problem due to his brushes with the Law in this Country.
  4. Bridger allegedly got in to some sort of Race row in a punch up and Lee was allegedly involved in Drugs. I don't think that Mauger, Olsen or 'Briggo' were ever involved in anything like that.
  5. Speedway in general would be far better off breaking away from BSI and NOT the FIM.
  6. I think you might have picked a good time to take your Holiday dantodan. I am hoping for a 'Diamonds' win - but - to be honest I am not expecting one. Sorry.
  7. You are right sidney - but I do not think that any of those three brought the Sport in to disrepute to the level of Lee and Bridger. In Lee's case I am talking about back in the Eighties - not recently.
  8. How does Ward go on regarding a Visa. Will he get one?
  9. If the BSPA/SCB are prepared to commit a Team to Ride to represent our Country - it should be up to them to guarantee that, in this instance, two British Riders are nominated to ride in the Event. If they cannot do this then they should respectfully apologise and withdraw from the said Event. Can anyone please inform us as to why Scott Nicholls was effectively banned from this Event? Surely restriction in Trade must come in to this somewhere. They are preventing him earning money from the Meeting. I just wonder if the Powers that be are reacting (getting their own back) to Scott's refusal to ride for the National Team at the SWC. If that is so - it is rather childish.
  10. i) Well they are hardly likely to say anything else are they? You don't bite the hand that feeds you. :nono: ii) Yeah right!!! That is self evident.
  11. It isn't an opinion that they couldn't find a decent British Rider to ride for Great Britain (not the dreadful TeamGB by the way). It is a FACT. If the BSPA/SCB blocked Scott Nicholls from riding - why did they permit Alun Rossiter to attend as Team Manager?
  12. Sadly - I have to agree with this Post. It is a disgrace that we couldn't find somebody British to ride for us. To what level has British Speedway sunk that this is the case? A bit surprised to see 'Roscoe' there for what was, in reality, just 'filler' Meeting with no relevance whatsoever to British Speedway apart from one Rider. All very sad really.
  13. WHAT - you really want to know. If you go to the Office and ask for Dave who runs the Training School - that's him. I am sure that they will tell you of his whereabouts. I hope this helps baldyman..
  14. Fair point. Nothing will change - as per usual. All anyone is interested in is covering their backs.
  15. Who? Tai and Harris (possibly) and Nicholls (possibly) I don't think any of the young ones are up to it yet. It would, however, be worth giving them a go for experience.
  16. The sad thing is we had some cracking 'Pairs' Riders in the past.
  17. I am obviously not explaining my self very well. I had probably better give up on this. I know what I meant anyway.
  18. Sigh...................... I mentioned Wembley in response to being questioned about Numbers - not Tracks. Which also proves my point - Thank you for that Phil.
