  1. I know I will get in to trouble off you Oldace - but I simply do not believe that the trouble was caused by the 'Green Light' Starts. The 'Green Light' Start is covered in the very Rules and Regulations of Speedway itself. The Riders would have known that. To fly in the face of the Rules and Regulations is foolish in the extreme. You can't win. 'Green Light' Starts have been part and parcel of Speedway for years. Whilst I will admit that the 'Green Light' didn't help the situation - I believe there was far more to it than that. Whether we will ever find out the real cause of the abandonment is another matter. Only time will tell.
  2. I don't think it was fine. I watched the Meeting on the Television and the Track was breaking up. You have admitted to ruts developing. It could have only got more dangerous not less so.
  3. I agree - racing motorcycles is very dangerous indeed. All the more reason that the Tracks should be prepared as well as is humanly possible - as you say the Sport is very dangerous. It ill behoves us to ask Riders to race on Tracks that add to that danger. That, is unfortunately, the way I see these Temporary Tracks.
  4. I'm a big Lonnie Donegan Fan. :approve: That's my era - Buddy Holly, Elvis, Eddie Cochrane, The Everly Brothers, Marty Wilde - it hasn't got any better than that since.
  5. Four foot from it's Tail. Lonnie Donegan - 'My Old Man's A Dustman'.
  6. Love it!!! Except it isn't really funny.
  7. One hell of a bloody big part I would have thought. I can't see too many going to watch the Track laid, to partake of the local hospitality, shopping etc. Without the Racing there would be nobody going...... Nothing. The Racing is the reason people attend - nothing else.
  8. Hoping for the best is simply not good enough for paying Spectators. It smacks of unprofessionalism. Nobody is suggesting that they set out to lay a crap Track. Sadly, though, too often they do. I don't believe that these Temporary Tracks are a good idea. Up to a point I think they are dangerous. Obviously, in this case, if it was the Track that stopped the Warsaw GP - the Riders would agree with me. Why should any Rider be asked to ride on (swallow) a dangerous Track? Would you? The Riders must have the POWER!!! They are the ones putting their lives at risk, not those building crap/dangerous Tracks. I hope you aren't a Health and Safety Officer.
  9. Well said Gemnini - I couldn't agree more. :approve:
  10. That, at present, is only an opinion. None of us actually know that for a fact.
  11. There is the problem. It's well to be seen you weren't riding that Track. Perhaps if you had been, you might have a different view to the one you are currently expounding on here.
  12. Perhaps Temporary Tracks should be abandoned altogether - for the sake of Speedway.
  13. Over to you Tony..................................................
  14. If that is the case - how do they cock up these Temporary Tracks so often. Perhaps the troubles in the Warsaw GPs was a result of a combination of things - like dangerous Temporary Tracks in general - not just the dangerous one in Warsaw. You can only complain so often - if nobody is taking any notice of you then you have to resort to action in order to get something done. Speculation on my part, I agree, but I offer it as another possible scenario.
  15. The only problem with that is: In some Meetings - there aren't any.
  16. I agree with you on this Drac. :approve:
  17. Are you telling me that BSI has absolutely no responsibility for this farce? If you are, I cannot agree with you. Consider this - the Riders would not have pulled out for no reason. It will cost them a lot of money. Perhaps they are just sick and tired of the way things are run in Speedway GPs these days. I suspect that there is much more to this than meets the eye. I am not saying the Riders were not to blame, I am only asking why you think that the Riders actions were felt by said Riders, to be necessary? Before anyone mentions the Green Light issue - I find it hard to believe that Riders would walk out of a GP for being asked to do something that is catered for within the Rules and Regulations of Speedway itself. I think we may have a deeper problem here - I doubt we will find out what it is though. I await the next GP with interest.
  18. I have no problem with that my friend. We are all entitled to our opinions. :)
  19. We've had Vic White, Geoff Bouchard and Peter Wrathall at our Sunderland Reunions. Happy days. Anyone remember the Bass brothers?
  20. I love that - you certainly made me laugh.. I'm surprised that Sheldon Cooper hasn't come up with a Plan to fix that Lift.
  21. Aaahhhhh - there's the rub. Will he have to Qualify for 2016 - or - will he be given a Permanent Wild Card for 2015. If that happens it will be an absolute disgrace. Who makes the decision? Anybody know? Because if it is that paragon of Speedway organization BSI - I'm pretty sure I know what the answer will be. Ze pheaun????? Do you think he is capable of composing an apology like that? Personally - I have my doubts.
